Why not put Deke in the Free Safety spot until Jason Allen is ready? Then switch him to SS, removing Yeremiah Bell (slow) and fit Allen in.

I'm not feeling Renaldo Hill at either Safety spot.

I like him as a nickle back.

Regardless, I LOVE Deke's size. He looks enormous (Listed at 6'2, 210, but looks larger)

No offense, but you are way off. :shakeno:

Hill is a veteran, and looks like a replacement for Schulters. Tillman and Bell are both getting better each year. Bell is slow?

Cooper is also a veteran that has played well in preseason. He will probably make the team as a backup at first. None of the positions in the secondary are guaranteed to anyone. But I don't see Cooper starting for the opener.

And Jason Allen... I would be shocked if he starts a single game this season. He will only do that if there are injuries. J. Allen will need at least one season before he is able to play well enough to start in this defense.

Why not? Probabaly because Nick Saban is a defensive back specialist, and he knows what he is doing.

Yeremiah Bell is slow? No offense, but to be honest no one who knows enough to seriously discuss that is going to take your post seriously. His speed drew rave reviews from Jim Bates, and that is a big reason why he is so effective as a pass rusher and has the role he has.

I see Hill filling in Tebuckys role of last year.... and with Tillman and Bell who both played very well last year, Allen being drafted... Deke's lucky to get a roster spot.

Bell has great speed and acceleration. He is missing mentally is the only explaination as to why he isn't the starter.

Your not "Feeling" him? Have you been watching him at all? I think he's been playing well and is a definite upgrade.

If we keep Cooper that means we'd keep 10 Defensive Backs. I don't see that happening.

And that's really saying something especially when Will Allen and Andre Goodman have been playing well too.

deke made a nice pic but he looked really bad blitzing during the jaguar game. saban's safeties have to blitz.
