the Patriots offensive coordinator...? He is 30...energetic, innovative...and the Raiders are looking at him...?

Just a thought...hadn't seen this posted...but it probably has been.

I HOPE that they don't rush it and seek more candidates when the teams get eliminated. Josh McDaniels might be someone to look at.

Sorry, but no. As an offensive coordinator, maybe. But not as a head coach. Green doesn't even describe him.

Why is anyone talking about Josh McDaniels and not talking about Dean Pees? Pees is way closer to getting a head coaching job.

And by the way, since when is being 30-something considered a POSITIVE? Everyone keeps denying they consider it a positive, but I think most people are lying. They see 30-something and they're like "ooohh...so young..."

I think they would be doing the team a great disservice if they don't at least bring him in for a chat.

He's a young, intriguing candidate who admittedly has a short resume. So do a lot of the other people we've had in. He's also been in the Bellichick system since 2001 and been Brady's OC/QB coach for the past two years.

"Spare no expense", right? Gas up the plane!

If the Pats lose to the Colts, invite him down and see what he says. If you can rule him out after a sit down interview then so be it.

I think McDaniels could use some more seasoning. I think he is intriguing to the Raiders because Al Davis can exert a lot of control over a younger coach.

Why do we keep looking at coordinators who are doing what's expected of them with teams that have talent and a winning culture?

Let's look at the coordinators who are making chicken salad out of chicken ****.

I can kind of see your point, but that's kind of like saying, "Don't go to a good school where there are helpful teachers and an environment conducive to learning. Making something of yourself at a good school doesn't prove anything.... go to a crackhead school where the teachers get beat up, the kids are hookin' in the parking lot, and they have to send the cops with K-9 units once a week... prove yourself there first."

From everything they do (drafting, free agency, game preparation, etc) the Patriots have proven to be the class of the league. I look there first if I'm trying to upgrade my coaching staff.

Why not Brady Quinn? Screw playing in the NFL. He's played under Charlie Weis. Plus, he's only 22. He could be hear for 30-40 years!!!

Agreed. If we don't hire Gailey by the end of the day then wait for the losers of the conference games and see who's available. If the Pats lose, try and get an interview with Josh. There is NO cons in talking to him. Talk to Pees too.

If nothing else our interviews with them will get their names out on the coaching carousel and sets them up for jobs in the next season's hirings, one more thing for the Pats to deal with.
