Chad has changed this entire offense around he gives us a chance to score on every drive with nice weapons on the outside and a solid run game and chad almost never turning the ball over...so why dont we score every drive and give the other team the ball back and let teams hang around with us instead of putting them away in the 1st half or 3rd quarter....

I believe if not all, most of the blame can go towards Henning, dont get me wrong, between the wildcat wen it first was used and some clever trick plays and other good calls i was impressed because the offense was so horrible last year and wen miami scored more than 14 points i was satisfied, but now i see the offensive talent and weapons on this team that should be putting up atleast 24 a game and putting teams away and i ask myself why they cant score basically every 2 or 3 possessions and have so many quick 3 and outs

For example today b4 the end of the 1st half we had a chance to take control and go up by another TD, and on 1st down he goes to the wildcat which has NOT worked well at all in the past 3 weeks atleast and didnt work all day, ronnie was breaking of 5, 6, 7 yard runs every time going straight north south on a hand off, instead we got nothing on 1st, on 2nd down in a tight space near the goaline he runs a reverse to ginn for -2 yards, you dont run a reverse this close to the endzone in a close game which usually result in a positive gain 1 out of every 10 times maybe if the phins were up by 14 it would have been okay

then luckily miami gets a 1st down even after all that and on 1st down instead of doing a straight run with ronnie for 4 or 5 yards he goes back to the wildcat which just got stuffed and also gives it to ricky instead of ronnie and he loses 6 yards, and then we get a hold that negates the next plays TD, but it shouldnt have come down to that henning was puttzing around and u knew eventually the bills were gona get a break and they did and we only ended up getting 3 points instead of a TD

same last week i remember watching a pass on 1st down incomplete so instead of giving ronnie the rock and getting ATLEAST 3yards we get 0 and now its 2nd and 10 then he decided to call a run 1 play to late and we get 6 yards, so now its 3rd and 4 which is managable with a ronnie run or SHORT pass, and i remember specifically against the rams that play where it was 3rd and 4 or 5 instead of running ronnie or a short dump to fasano or a quick out to bess for a realistic easier 1st down, henning calls a pass play spreading everyone too far and the play went to Ginn downfield with the safety waiting and an incomplete pass trying to do to much instead of taking what the defense wud have given and the phins take Another FG and let the rams hang around

sorry for the long post but if miami wants to make the playoffs or hang around with the power houses of the AFC or beat good teams like NE and NYJ we cannot go 3 and out with no yards cuz henning refuses to use our best player in RB besides 8 or 9 carries a game, and pass or call wildcat plays that everyone has adjusted to and stops, field goals will not beat the good teams our defense has been very good or very bad, they keep alot of teams out of the endzone and hold them to FG but you know a FG 3 point lead wont for the phins will not cut it against brett favre slinging it around against our swiss cheese secondary eventually hes gona put up 7

i really hope they adjust and realize wen they look at the tape that the wildcat should be used ONCE or twice at the most in good situations and you can run on first down who cares if the defense thinks its gona b a run its still a good chance of a 4 or 5 yard run by ronnie, most of all for god sakes give the friggen ball to ronnie he is a beast and our best chance to make the playoffs

um too much wildcat now, and the fact that we aren't geared to put points on the board. if it hasnt' happened in 13 games, it never will for this season. we are a ball control, no mistake offense.

Henning is doing a great job period. :err: Bottomline the Phinz have not been this good on offense in about 3-4 YEARS :woot:. Most of the guys here who really understand football indepth known two things (1) NO team in the NFL can score a TD on every time they get the ball. Well unless they are playing last year's 1-15 Phinz defense every game. And the most important thing (2) if the OL sucks you lose period. Currently the two starting OG's for the Phinz simple suck :shakeno: and somehow Henning is calling plays that work around the fact that our OGs suck and we have the worst blocking TE's I've seen in along time. Bottomline given the lack of tools Henning was to work with, Henning should be OC of the year. :beer1:

some people are missing the point about the wildcat....you guys think that unless we get 40 yard out of it it didn't work...if you get a 4 yard gain then is a good play...but it goes deeper than that...the other teams are having to take time in practice to prepare for it....they know that we might run it at any time so we keep them honest all the time....I know sometimes we may not get any yards out of it,but is helping our offence in many ways...at the very least the other team having to prepare for it is a good thing for our regular offence...overall,we're moving the football in every game...even when we don't score a lot we're still keeping our defence off the field like we did today....nobody should be unhappy with Dan Henning...he's taken an offence that last year couldn't do anything right and made it much better.

Ozzy rules!!

So let me get this straight ....

The Dolphins have worst WRs in the NFL. You got a journeyman QB coming off multiple arm surgeries most people felt was washed up just 5 months ago. You got a TE that another team just threw away for a 2nd day pick. You got a rookie left tackle and both of your week 1 offensive guards are on IR. You got your fullback off waivers a few weeks ago. You got one RB coming off ACL surgery and another RB coming off a 3 year marijuanna induced hiatus.

And instead of giving credit for getting this cast of misfits to 8-5, you claim he's singlehandedly preventing you from "scoring every drive".

Wow, the stupid is phenomenally strong.

wow by scoring every drive i did not mean that literally cuz its literally impossible so i didnt think id have to explain that one but i guess some people take things to seriously, hmmm worst WR in the NFL, ted ginn who is a solid #2 receiver who can break one at any time if the play is designed right, devon bess who everyone on finheaven is in love with including myself as a draft gem and a SOLID posession receiver who stepped up from a 3rd down receiver to a consistent #2 to ginn...oh and i forgot hes a ROOKIE, and Camarillo who finheaven members also love had himself a contract year going great posession over the middle wes welker type WR with better speed and size, but i guess there the "worst" in the NFL, and there made to look even that good by ur so called "journeyman" QB:lol:, i guess your a journeyman when you were with ONE team for 8 years, a journeyman is sum1 like Guss fruerotte and AJ Feeley, not a QB who was with one team took them to the playoffs and won and beat us what like 8 out of the last 10 times we played him, but i guess hes just one of those "misfits", and people dont give up a 2nd round pick for a throw away TE who has over 320yards and 4TD's compared to the average 183yards and 1TD of the average NFL TE so i think hes doing pretty good,.....but i guess there just a bunch of misfits and have nothing to do with MIA going 8-5 it was all henning:err:

Uh, the two guards we had on day one, including our prize FA signing are out. Our center is overrated. We don't have a legitimate tall "X" receiver.

Last year we were worse. Henning is doing the best that he can with what we have, and we are STILL 8-5. This is a transition year. We knew that in August. This team has a better record than an Dolphins team since early in Wannstedt's career when the team was still JJ's. That was three coaches ago. Just stop whining and enjoy it while we got it.

Take it easy, we will be good next year. In the mean, let's just enjoy some prosperity for once.

My problem with the wildcat is that it seems like they have totally stopped being creative with it. I wonder why they haven't even attempted another play like the flea-flicker-ish one they caught Houston with for a long TD. That or even Ronnie throwing.

I am content all day if they get 4 and 5 yard gains out of it, but plays out of the formation have been consistently getting stopped for losses lately.

1. Can't run out of the base I-formation.

2. No dependable "big" WR. No O.J. McDuffie either.

Considering Henning has to work with.........

Im in no way whining but its unbelievable how during the official gameday thread for this game as it went on and miami would get a 3 and out or do the wildcat or pass when they shuda run or there was a bad play call......and there were multiple posts from multiple different people saying repeatedly "horrible play call" "stupid call" "give the ball to ronnie", "stop using the wildcat" and just because miami overcame that because the D stepped up and chad and ronnie and bess carried the team on there backs, all is forgiven and no1 will criticize henning just because miami came away with a win, but if miami lost there would be threads involving hennings play calling inconsistency

no dependable WR, camarillo was mr.dependent and bess has been nothing but dependable all season on 3rd downs and ginn picking up big first down against oakland to give us the game winning FG.

havent u learned anything from the NFL, yes i understand we dont have a "big" WR but who cares what we have is working with those smaller receivers, tell steve smith, wes welker, santonio holmes, santana moss, and donnie avery that they cant be productive because there not 6'5

I think we need to stick to the basic offense more than we do when we get inside the red zone. We are not going to score many long distance TDs (Our team is not explosive at QB, WR, or RB) but we need to do a better job of scoring TDs when we finish off those long drives (FGs will not always be enough).
Our reliance on the Wildcat, reverses, and other unusual plays close to the goal has not paid off recently. I feel we need to trust Chad, Ronnie, Ricky, our WRs, our OL, etc. to get it done using the plays that got us there. Our 1 TD against the Bills was scored from a base formation - nothing fancy. But then we went to trickeration the next few times we got close. The failure of those plays and penalties made us settle for 3 instead of 7.
