Why Ross has faith (for now) in Jeff Ireland

Absolutely. It happens all the time. But we both know what's happening now isn't working.

Good luck to them somewhere else.

I meant the fans are not happy with what Ireland has done, hence the trash but Ross may see it differently, hence the treasure.

Ireland has got to go as well. This better be him just supporting them until January.

Ireland deserves blame for the O-Line as well. And we don't need him asking Andrew Luck, Landry Jones or Barkley if their mothers are hookers. This franchise has been just as big a joke under this regime as it's been for a while, if not more. Wipe it clean.

I was looking around to see if anyone had posted this before I posted it again.

It's disappointing how well Ireland has deceived Ross. He's basically deflected the 2008-2010 drafts on Parcells, the picks of John Jerry and pickup of Colombo has been deflected and blamed on Sparano...basically all the glaring deficiencies on the team are not his fault. Ross should wake up and realize that if Ireland is not to blame for any of the teams problem then he's been stealing money from him for sitting in an office and having a title of GM and doing nothing with it for 3 years.

The other comments in there about Sparano though are interesting. It seems despite the public vote of confidence Sparano is living on a week-to-week basis and Nolan, followed by Karl Dorrell, would be next in line to take over should he be fired during the season. The article also mentions that if he hired Cowher or any other high profile coach that wants to bring his own personnel department in, that won't be a deal breaker and Ireland will be gone. Ross will try to convince the new coach to stick with Ireland but if he says no then Ireland is out of here.

Oh I'm glad we got someone on finheaven that works closely with the front office. Thanks for the inside tip bro

Possibly.. but with Ross investing so much in thr "stadium experience" I wouldn't be surprised if Ross is very tuned to the sentiments of the fans.

trust me guys, if we are looking at getting cowher, gruden, fischer, or now reid who is in the mix, and they want to hire their own gm. Ireland will be bagging groceries...book it.

There's a reason Jeff Ireland keeps recommending to Steve Ross that he keep Tony Sparano: self-preservation.

Many have wondered why Jeff Ireland seems to have some kind of teflon coating to where things don't stick to him. That teflon coating has a name: Tony Sparano. Sparano is the closest to the fire, the one who is shown on the sidelines of the games, the one who has to give day-after press conference. He is the one that absorbs all the heat, frustration and scapegoating that comes with losing week after week. People just get sick of even looking at his face, hearing hs words in the press conferences. It's human nature.

But once Tony leaves and there's a new, unfamiliar interim coach prowling those sidelines...the next in line with his feet now a hell of a lot closer to the fire...is Jeff Ireland. Think about it. Let's say Tony gets canned after a loss in the Meadowlands. That will leave THREE MONTHS of losing before this season comes to a merciful end. THREE MONTHS with no Tony Sparano prowling those sidelines, formulating game plans, or giving day-after press conferences.

How the hell would Jeff Ireland survive that? Who is he going to get to be his body shield? The new interim guy? That's not going to stick. From then on it will just be Jeff.
