I love Saban! His attitude and attention to detail will ultimately get us in the right direction, if not this season.

I love this quote from today's SS: "The worst thing that you can do as a football team is play poorly and win."

He was talking about how to correctly approach each week, win or lose, and added this quote at the end. It got me to thinking how many times during the Wanny era that we won while playing poorly (especially on offense - i.e. Feebler). Saban won't accept this, while Wanny and Co. did.

That's the difference. That's why Saban will lead us to great things! He'll never settle for ordinary, win or lose!

I do love Saban and believe this team will be dominant for years to come. I just hope he instills more into the Offense. I don't think Linehan is properly suited for this team. He is totally underutilizing our rushing attack and abandoning way to early. That is the strength of our team. We have a servicable QB at best who is showing why he has been a journeyman backup. He is not Daunte, so the playbook needs to be changed accordingly.

If Saban puts his stamp on the offense I think we will turn it around this year, if not, better wait until we get a real QB.

Thank the lord he is not daunte right now, its still early for a new offense, it might not start steamrolling till next season, that is why we have to have patience, if gus can ever get his throws on or his timing down a bit, he will have good games, not huge ones, but good ones, we all know he is not the long term answer, but some of the fans out here have to be 14 years old, everytime gus has a bad game, its put in AJ, then you will all cry when he stinks up the joint, then everybody will want gus back, seen this very thing happen between ears and AJ. Lets not forget, that our whole team with the exceptions of a few players are playing terrible and undisciplined right now. Saban will improve this team without a doubt, almost everyone in the football world is expecting it, not just us, we just have to have PATIENCE. I have complete trust in Saban, he is a true professional.

Yes SABAN WILL GET IT DONE. There are plenty of reasons why. As a LSU Tiger fan I witnessed how he turned a once proud program stuck in the rut to a National Championship program. And, yes some college colleges can't make a successfull transition to the pro grame but Saban can. He had success with the old Cleveland Browns as their d coordinator before he even went to Mich St. and LSU. He understood the pro game very well before he became the Dolphins coach.

His attention to discipline, order, and detail is exactly what this team needs after having Wannstedt as coach. The penalties will go down in number because Saban will kick %%% and cut players who are not team players. Defense is first in his book so, the team will excel first on D and then get their act together on offense. And, Gus is not the long term solution but the best immediate option until he becomes completely unglued (which despite the past couple of weeks IMHO it has not been THAT bad although certainly room for improvement).

We have a lot of holes as a team and that is why the current regime of Saban/Mueller needs two full drafts and offseasons build us into a solid contender. We have an outside shot this year for the playoffs if we can improve and definitely a shot next year and then a very real threat the next. Keep in mind that the Jets, Bills, and Pats all have their own problems injuries being the most important among them. IMHO the division is just weaker than most would thought at this point of the year and it is anyone's division to be had.
