It seems that everybody was for him when we were trying to get him here.

We got him here and then everyone was happy.

We win our first regular season game and now Nick Saban is God.

We win one more and every one continues to be happy and praising Saban.

But as soon as we lose, we want to cut his balls off and feed his head to the lions. Why?

Every coach loses at some point, I have faith in Nick Saban that he will rebuild this franchise. There will be some growing pains and that is what were experiencing.

Right now all we need to have is patience.

I can't believe there are idiots on this board that are bashing Saban. That has gots to be the most ridiculous thing.

Expectations soared beyond control in the preseason and then got ridiculous after you beat Denver. people were talking SB, 12-4 records, running away w/ the East. The bottom line is it was expected there'd be some growing pains and realistically a good year is 6-7 wins w/ the big leap a year from now. He should not be under any heat yet.

It's the nature of sports. The team wins and fans are happy - the team loses and they are not. Saban came in saying he was not rebuiliding and expected to win now. He set very high expectations (at least publicly) and so far the team has not lived up to them.

There really isn't that much heat on Saban. People generally are venting because he seems to leave so many questions out there unanswered. Not that he should tip his hand on his plans, but a better explanation of some things would be nice. I happen to think Saban is a great coach and will bring this team back to it's glory days. But I'm a coach too, and I know that no matter what, questions will be raised, it doesn't matter how successful you have been in the past or even how successful you are at the moment. It's the nature of the game.

Thats not how the majority or the intelligent Dolphim fans feel.

The Ignorant threads you are reading suggesting the things you mentioned are being started by a lunatic fringe.

You have to put up with them here as there is no law against stupidity and its not a violation of TOS.

I don't think there's that much heat on Saban right now. 1 or 2 posters on this site have called for his head but that's about it. There has been about 3 or 4 hundred threads about the 3rd and 2 playcall, and most blame Linehan (and Saban to some degree) for the play, that's about the worst of it though. I feel Saban is a bit guarded when it comes to releasing info, but I for one am glad he's that way. And anyone that feels that the current team isn't better off than last years fiasco is kidding themselves.

Its all about Gus. People want to get rid of gus no matter what. Which is not a bad nootion at this point. Problem is, our problems dont start and end with Gus. They start with Linehan who insists on using our two great RB's in such a way that has us running sideways instead of straight ahead! (Reverses, double reverses, end arounds).

EXCELLENT response!! We're not spoiled brats because we question moves. Does that mean that Saban is above criticism?? Hey, I was one of those who wanted Saban. I'm not saying we should fire him. But the fact of the matter being, he has made some questionable moves!! If it was Wannstedt or another coach then it would be all right?? While any new coach is entitled to "3" years of changing this team, I don't like the idea of Saban being so rigid!! He can continually spout off about consistency and success but Gus Frerrote is not the answer, pure and simple. As the ol'e saying goes, "S**t or get off the pot!!" Let's see what Sage can do. I realize he's not the next Dan Marino, but what's the harm in trying!!

I agree with you. Another one I get a kick out of is the rumors that Brian Billick could get fired. The guy has done a fantastic job in Baltimore, and in 1 crappy year they talk about firing him.

Wow, I agree with a Jets fan!;)

As far as I'm concerned there is nothing wrong with questioning what the coach does,
or a players level of play.
It is very frustating to see games slip away because of penalties and bad execution.
Saban gets paid 5 million a year has the most expensive coaching staff in the NFL, why should he not be held up to scrutiny like any other coach.
Calling half of the people in this forum a-holes isn't the way to go, Rochester have you read CK's review of the last game did you think that our D had a good game plan?
Do you think the Fins were well prepared for this game.

Some people will complain no matter what, but they are mostly the few. I think the majority of us are very happy with Saban overall, and have seen some really nice things this year - leading us to believe things will be much better the next two seasons.

That said, we still have to play this season, and it hasn't all been peachy so far. As a result, you get some short-term complaining, second-guessing, and all that. Plus, now, it's magnified by the bad play call (3rd and 2) Sunday.

Don't worry - they'll be plenty of good written about St. Nick over the next few years ...
