Following a stellar 2014 campaign, Jalen Mills missed the first six games of the 2015 season with a fractured fibula. Mills returned to action against Florida andshowcased his ability as a tackler throughout the remainder of the season. Mills tiedhis single-game record of nine tackles against Alabama as he displayed the ability to make tackles in the run game and maintain effectiveness in coverage.

Mills played free safety and nickleback for LSU and proved capable of making plays at both spots this season. He was also utilized on "cat blitzes" (cornerback blitzes off the edge) to get pressure on the quarterback. Mills' toughness and versatility enabled him to accumulate 216 tackles and six interceptions in his career.

There are many positive attributes that Mills brings to the table at the next level. Below are six reasons Mills should be on the Dolphins' radar:

Is he really what we need? He's a SS/nickel hybrid kind of DB. Deep coverage is not his speciality. He plays best with the ball in front of him. Good player, but I wouldn't have thought a fit for us. I do like the young LSU FS, though. Adams I think? He's on his way to being a stud.

Mills has played FS, nickel and boundary corner for LSU.

In the video someone posted of Vance Joseph, Vance talked about the secondary and the cover 2 shell. LSU plays a lot of cover 2 shell so the concept would not be foreign to Mills.

You don't think Mills ability to play inside and outside, as well as FS, would benefit the defense?

Jamal Adams plays more SS than FS for LSU.
