I've never seen this article before, I hope it hasn't been posted..if so please delete..but it's a good read and cover all our division rivals as well..check it out..

The Bottomline

This may be a short and sweet version of the argument behind a Miami AFC East title repeat, but it's fair to say that these reasons leave the AFC East up for grabs. New England is the obvious favorite, but Miami is known to play well against the Pats and will be a worthy opponent for them.

Many DolFans have faith in what Coach Sparano, Bill Parcells and Jeff Ireland preach to the organization. The attitude that this trio has instilled in the Miami Dolphins has united the team and is the primary factor behind Miami's 2008 success. How else can one explain the Fins resurrection with the limited talent pool they utilized last year?

With an improved team and an intact core, Miami only has room to improve. Nobody is saying that it will be easy, but neither was turning a 1-15 team into a 11-5 division champion.

Why the Fins Can Repeat as AFC East Champs

If Brady gets hurt again you and the rest of the division have a shot.

nope this is a two horse race and you know it. jets have no QB they wont put up many points on anyone. Bills are just the bills enough said, they started 4-1 last year then went downhill. Miami is a technically solid team with some big play potential. Pats are of course an explosive team but Brady might not be Brady of old

This is a 1 horse race and we all know it. The only way ot's even a race is IF Brady is still affected in a major way by the injry or if he gets hurt again.

We have Qbs they just don't have experience, if Chad goes down you are in a worse spot than we are at QB and Chad has never had back to back healthy seasons.

IF Buffalo gets decent OL play they have the most ammo to bring down NE THIS YEAR.

What 'rest of the divison'? :lol2:

There's not much of a difference btw the other 3 teams. IF we get decent QB play we can be the best of the 3, IF Chad stays healthy again for you you guys can be the best of the 3, IF Buffalo gets decent OL play they can be the best of the 3. You guys had a great year last year but for some reason you think it entitles you to every div title for the next 10 years. Teams get good and bad very quickly and you would think Dolphin fans realize this after last year.

I somewhat agree, if Chad P goes down we are going to have growing pains, however I still think its not going to be as bad as the Jets.

Jets possibly have a future in Sanchez, I just dont think he will make an impact this year. If that kid starts, and doesnt start off well Jet fans and the media will eat him up. NY is one of the hardest places to break in there is very little room for error there.

That being said this division is one of the hardest to pick, I think NE is extremely overrated this year. Brady is Brady, but that OL is getting soft and that defense is not nearly as good as it used to be. Their secondary is questionable and thats why I think Miami can take them. Right now Miami has the second best QB in the division, if Brady doesnt come back strong we will have the first best QB in this division, at least for this season.

don't worry. we know how quickly things can change. unless the injury bug strikes hard, we do have a better team than in 2008 though. that's not to say we're going to win the division in 2009. but we do have a shot, even with Brady back.

yet you're entitling the Pats...with their leader coming off a terrible knee injury.

I think w/ all the big talk it will put more pressure on sanchez but at the end of the day I think most fans and media members realize he is a rookie and even though we have alot of talent around sanchez and other rookie QBs performed well last year he is still just a rookie. My goal for this year is to see him develop, as long as he satrts getting it at some point this season I'll be happy no matter what the record is. IF he can limit mistakes I think we'll be able to contend for a postseason berth but I am not expecting that.

They have proven it for a decade not just one year, this is a team that was 18-0 2 years ago w/ Brady. he's the best QB in the game and by all accounts he's healthy. NE is the team to beat and the have earned that right.

i can only speak for myself, but i could care less if someone thinks New England is better than us. we're going to settle that on the field. their offense looks good on paper. i'm preparing for the worst. their D looks vulnerable though.

There is a reason that NE is the superbowl favorite. Now things still have to be played but seriously NE should be the favorite in the division. They almost won the division last year with a qb that had not started since high school. Cant think of any team that has gone through that. Belichek is the best coach in the league and we still are growing into our skin. Anything is possible and the Jets and Buffalo also will not be cakewalks although we tend to assume it will be easy. Believe me we will have problems with Evans and Owens lined up against a new secondary. We should be in the fight but at this point with Brady back they are the team to beat.

With all due respect, nyjunc and dlockz, I have to disagree. The Miami Dolphins are the team to beat in the AFC East since they are the reigning AFC East Champs.

Just like the Arizona Cardinals are the team to beat in the NFC and the Steelers are the team to beat for the World Title.

I'm not taking away anything from the Patriots, Jets or Bills but as it stands right now, a few weeks before the season starts: the Miami Dolphins are still on top of the AFC East until proven otherwise.

You don't automatically claim the title as favorites b/c you won the year before. The Cards are NOT the favorites in the NFC and I don't think Pitt is the favorites in the AFC. In the AFC east where the pats minus Brady tied for the div there's no way they can be considered favorites. Can you win it again? absolutely(you weren't favorites last year and you won it) but on paper there's no doubt who the favorites are.
