The problem with that is many candidates will be hired or will move on by the time we make a decision. Granted, we could luck out and find an unheralded coach who works wonders for this team, but the odds are against that.

The funny thing is a few names that people really want are in the playoffs right now as cordinators. We would have to wait on them. Philbin (?) most likely won't be available for 25 days and people have no problem waiting that one out.

I'm with you, the drama on this board is beyond ridiculous. He said he would decide by the end of the week and he should be given that chance. This is a huge life decision he's making and he hasn't gone beyond the timeline he promised. The media is whipping up a frenzy all trying to predict a story when they have absolutely no clue as to what is happening. Either way, the Phins will be fine.
And GREAT things come to those who go out and get it.
But I do agree with you that we shouldn't hire a coach just to say we've hired a coached. Dolphins are notorious for throwing all of their eggs in one basket.
Because nowadays we're an instant gratification society.

I dont reallt think the process has really dragged on that long. Its obvious we want fisher so we are waiting on him. there is no reason to rush but there are disadvantages to taking too long because you lose out on possible coordinators.

Not entirely true. We don't get Fisher and he goes to the Rams you have us, Tampa, and Oakland as the teams with no coaches with Indy's situation up in the air. We aren't really competing with either of those teams for a coach.
Oakland is almost a guarantee to hire Winston Moss as head coach. Reggie McKenzie wants his guy. Outside of interviewing Todd Bowles, you know who he's setting interviews up with? Winston Moss, Dom Capers, and Darren Perry; Green Bay Coaches. You probably could add Philbin in there as well had he not had that tragedy earlier.
The only guy Tampa is even considering that we looked at is Mike Zimmer, but he isn't even considered a true option. It looks like Mike Sherman or Marty Schottenheimer for them.
There are still some damn good candidates out there. Ideally, we will have a staff for the Senior Bowl but we aren't getting beaten out for anybody

Well who knows what our interest level was but we did lose out on Mike Mularkey . I know people will say good but the team did have an interview set up so he had as good a shot as anybody outside of jeff fisher.
