Why the Season was a Failure

I’ve made it know there are still questions about his philosophies.
What I saw at camp was discouraging to me personally but I think he’s following a sports science script
What would you have liked to see differently at camp ? lol

I think both players and coaches bought into the hype and McD took the pedal off the gas and figured they would roll over teams. Once we got trounced by quality it was too late to come up with a scheme. Now his schtick is old, his **** was pushed up into his throat and we'll see if the bad taste makes them work harder. And, lose the tv show.

Now we have to design a team to beat the Bills because until that's done we'll be a just bad enough #2

For every highly successful head coach there are many many more who are promoted to their level of incompetence. The stronger likelihood is that McDaniel would make a great coordinator and an inadequate head coach. So far the team shines in the areas that represent technical brilliance, which is what a coordinator does, and lacks in the areas head coaches are responsible for.
At this point, this is 200% true.

But he’s only in his third year, too. He got better from year 1 to 2. I will give him the benefit of the doubt to get better again.

But make no mistake, he must get better if we are going to be elite.

Stop bringing Les into this, man you people 😒

If you had to distill it down to something understandable by everybody, McDaniel has to become a leader of men instead of what looks like an immature high school nerd tinkering with a science project, or he has to have leaders among the players who do that for him.

But if the latter, he must still be able to manage those leaders. So either way, he needs to mature.

But he is a young guy and has only served 2 years as a head coach. And after those 2 years, I think we got better from year 1 to 2, although not massively.

I think he will get better. We have no reason to think he won’t (at this point).

In my opinion nobody should be putting on a show of rehearsed multi-player end zone celebrations unless it's after the game-winning touchdown with no time left on the clock in the Super Bowl. Once you're at the top of the mountain you can pull that stuff off. If you're still climbing leave it aside. The goal of the season is to win the Super Bowl, not to put on a show.
Would Don Shula EVER stand for these rehearsed clown like celebrations? Not in a million years. That doesn't make Coach Shula a dinosaur but rather the winner that he was!!!
