I knew it

I knew ever since I saw Daunte Culpepper take the first snap in the Steelers game I knew he was not going to be a good Qb for us and I will be the first to tell everyone that I did get a Daunte Culpepper jersey but that is going to go in the trash.

Should have just put this post in the DC thread. No need for a new one.

It was one game. There is no way anyone knew that he was not going to be a good QB. I still think we need to at least give him a chance to prove himself but i doubt it's going to happen.

Actually, Daunte didn't look half bad against Pitt -- until he did his patented self-destruct mode in the 4th quarter with the INT for a TD to Porter and then the second INT to Palomalu on the very next play.

It was the Bills who exposed Daunte as a fraud ... 6 sacks, 1 INT in a 16-6 loss in the September heat in Miami! He had a 90+ QB rating, though! :)

I did. I saw everything the Vike fans warned us about in that game: he chokes when the game is on the line; holds on to the ball too long; slow making decisions, blah, blah ... I'd given him the benefit of the doubt going into the season and hoped it was a case of sour grapes on the part of the Vikes fans, but everything they said about the guy was confirmed in that one game - followed up by three repeat performances.

I wore mine today in protest, and support of DC.

That shows how miss leading QB ratings can be.

Great post..glad u shared that with us...NOT

to be honest i really feel for daunte, the man wasnt put into a fair situation. yes he didnt show us much but the injury fact and the oline that was non-existant in the first half of the season really didnt allow for him to play at his highest level. however i am a supporter of the trent green trade and trent green and believe that he can come in now and help us win and bring stability to the offense. also become a good mentor for jon beck and hopefully the future of the franschise. my biggest fear at this point is that daunte will eventually be traded or released and sign with another team and regain his old form and become one of the star qbs in this league again. it is just too typical to expect with the bad luck we have had over the years, however i cant be too upset because we now have a veteran qb who has performed at the highest level in this league

I guess you also knew that he wasn't 100% or that Satan was gonna bail on us as soon as the season was over. Truth is that if Satan were still here DC would be the starting QB hands down.

Now while im in favor of the TG trade i wish they would give DC a chance at 100% to show what he's got and let the best man win.
