early in the game when GUS threw that interception he began moving in the direction towards where the bronco defender was returning it.....

One of Denver's guys then came from behind and nailed/shoved him very hard and it was legal yada yada announcers saying that since he was moving towards the interceptor that he was a potential tackler.

THEN the same thingn happened to plummer by matt roth and he got a 15 yard penalty. roth's hit was not even as bad as the one on gus!! WTF

plummer was moving towards the defender who had intercepted just like gus, roth put a shove on plummer from behind just like what happened to gus

we get 15 yard penalty. i dont understand

IF there is something im overlooking as to why this isn't BS then please let me know!

I wondered about that too. Maybe, if you saw them again, Roth's was more behind Plummer than the Denver player's was behind Frerotte. They looked pretty similar on the TV.

The flag was definitely for the shove, rather than the little altercation afterwards, wasn't it? That's about the only obvious difference I could see between the two situations. Then again, I was only watching on TV and I'm not an NFL official.

The hit on Frerrot was to the shoulder from the front. Roth's hit was clearly behind or in the back. I could be wrong but I believe that's what drew the flag.

maybe your right but a cheap shots a cheap shot and IMO they were both guilty...dont get me wrong i liked seeing plummer get abused but when **** like that happens to frerrotte i get scared he could get injured lol.

Because the guy with the ball was out of bounds by the time that Roth hit him and he hit Plummer in the back....besides, it is a new point of interest for the Refs.. I'm surprised that Denver didn't get called for it on Gus' int...

You can say the hit was in the back all that you want, but he was penalized for unnecessary roughness not blocking in the back.

Also, when you are blocked in the back you land on your face/stomach. When JP went down it was right on his butt so really he couldnt have been blocked in the back. I thought it looked more like Roth Choke slammed him, WWF style. Just with a hand in the chest rather than on the throat.

I was there it was blatently late, in fact a lot of us thought it was goign to be a personal foul, unnessacray roughness...blah blah blah. What you guys watching may not of seen is how pissed saban was and he walked onto the field and made pointing gestures to his head while he yelled at roth.. telling him to THINK man

roth needs to relax or he will be seeing alot of the bench.

No matter how good a guy is, if he consistently gets 15 yrd penalties, he wont last long

That basically explains it then. While the hits did not look much different on TV, it happened to Gus while the ball was still in the field of play, and with Plummer the ball was already out of bounds.

i dont care if he was penalized or not. it was so funny watching plumber crying to him as roth just kept walking toward the sideline..he didnt even look at plumber..just talked trash. i was histerical.

I too thought that was funny, Roth just walked away like he was just doing his job.

i saw the replay. Should of been a flag it looked like

Still ... I loved it... 15 Yards or not ... was more of a statement than anything else. I let out a nice OH HELL YEAH ... when that happened.
