-Ravens rely heavily on their running game. They're top two backs average less than 4 yards a carry. Not very impressive.
-Stop the run, and their offense sputters. Easier said than done. However, unlike last game we will have a healthy Jason Ferguson and Soliai back. Our rush defense is an impressive and underrated 10th in the league.
-Double cover Flacco's favorite target on passing downs, Derrick Mason.
-Keep throwing new wildcat wrinkles to keep that aggressive defense overpursuing.
-GO DEEP WITH TED GINN! Easier said than done, I know. Samari Rolle has not practiced all week. This would leave them with a 3rd and 4th string CBS. (Chris McAlister is on IR)
-Fabian Washington, their 3rd CB is also injured and might not go. Go Deep! Test those corners... (Check how Colts beat/destroyed the Ravens earlier in the year)
-Run more to the right side of the Ravens defense. It's their "weaker" side if you could say that.
-Allow Porter to blitz heavily on Gaither. Gaither, a good LT, had his worst game against Miami.
-Despite what many think, I look for Chad Pennington to have a good day. He will challenge those corners.
-Look for Anthony Fasano when he's matched up with Strong Safety Jim Leonhard. Fasano will overpower him.
I think the Dolphins, despite getting no love, can beat the Ravens. "Experts" fail to realize that our top two NTs were out. Without a nosetackle in a 3-4 scheme, everything crumbles. They may have one of the most complex defensive schemes, but remember, Miami challenges this by having one of the most complex offensive schemes (Mutliple formations, Wildcat wrinkles, all receivers, tight ends, backs can catch).
And for the Ravens offense, they have the most vanilla offense. They rush almost 40 times a game. And when they pass, look for Derrick Mason to be on the receiving end. Very Simple.
-They have TWELVE impactful players on the injured list. (11-limited practice, 1-did not practice- Samari Rolle)
-Playoff experience.. Pennington has it, plus he's playing at home in front of an electrifying crowd. Flacco, playing as a rookie in his first playoff game. This crowd will be a lot different than what he has seen playing at Delaware.
