because in exception of leinard (but he will not be on board when we are on the clock), we don't want a RB and after that the most difficult player to sign in FA is LT.

One more reason, there aren't many LT on the market this year and if we want protect our new young QB (carr or rivers or brees or cutler) we will need a good LT and saban wil not overpay for him.

So....

opinions.

i agree having a stud LT is nice... but i think we can make due with the LT we have at the moment and still be successful...

but we cannot be successful without a good quarterback... if we have a shot at one of the premier QBs in the draft that first round pick should be used for that... unless we get one of these young guns from another team (rivers, carr, schaub, etc)

If we go with Rivers, we lose our first rd pick this year so its out. Carr will most likely be kept by the Texans so he's out. Brees should be with the Chargers. Why give up a Pro Bowl qb? The more pressing need is qb, and therefore trade up in this draft and get a qb imo.

We will have enough money to sign a Free agent LT.... Drafting one high up I dont think is our first priority unless its the BPA.

Does anyone know whos an unrestricted FA LT next year that we could bring in?????

i could me wrong... but we are looking at some lefty qbs... right? if we get a lefty qb... wouldn't we want to get a stud RT to protect his blindside?

Either way, why hasn't everyone seen the improvement in our o-line in just half a season... we are putting up some of the best rushing averages and sacks allowed in the league. Let Houck pick some later round guys to develop so we can get our skill players first day. Just my opinion

trust me, you do not want to take a OT very high in the draft.

better to get a player at a "skill" position.

In a draft that contains some of the best OT prospects(both quality and quantity) in a long time. It would be a mistake not fill an obvious need.

NO anthony alabi and DMAC can do the job we will also have wade smith back we have no stud but we have depth we have more need see QB LB S CB WR

I agree with you QB is our more obvious need but if leinard is gone, I want cutler (but not with our first round pick), and in that case OT is the best choice in my opinion

Yea HH is doing a great job.Look at the patsies most of their olinemen are low rounds or undrafted.

Patriots got Matt Light in round 2 and developed him with good coaching. I think we develop Alabi and/or take a LT in round 2 or later. I think we do defense in round 1 -- CB, LB, S, or NT.

LT is a huge "skill" position

Carey is going to stay at RT. He is young and can develop into something long-term. So that leaves McIntosh and McDoogle playing at LT. McIntosh is aging and doesn't have alot left. His ankle is wired together (those words come from his own mouth). I don't see him lasting long-term. And McDoogle hasn't been anything special this year. It wouldn't hurt for Miami to bring in someone to compete for the starting LT role. I would rather see it come from FA.
