Why We Need to Have Expectations

I did want Tua signed. You are right. But I didn’t think we would make playoffs last year
I never believed in Grier.
I thought McDaniel was good first two years abd didn’t mind extension

I have no problem recalling what I said.

I thought we would miss playoffs cause of Phillips and Chubb coming off major injuries. And starting Liam and Robert jones suck
I was right. I think we are in better position this year. This is what upsets you. One damn positive thing. It’s not like I said we were going to afc camp or something.
I just think we can make wildcard

But I was wrong about a lot. Too
I thought Jordan Poyer would be upgrade for us
I didn’t think we would miss Elliot the safety
I didn’t think Tua was dumb enough to get hurt again be going head first.

Can’t help if you don’t believe that stuff But maybe if I admit my bad calls I made you will.
i never thought they would be good last year. now you are changing your tune again and saying in the other post you thought they might have been a 7 seed. i do NOT think they will be good this year either. i think they will NOT be making the playoffs. i guess their only chance is if josh allen gets hurt very early in the season and is out for the year, and even then, i am dubious. if they get in under those circumstances, i think they lose the playoff game regardless. that is what i think. if they prove me wrong, i will be happy i was wrong and will happily admit i was wrong.

I think we could go-10-7 at best. Is that a great team no. But it is what I think based on upgrades abd if we stay healthy
what could we be at worst? what probability would you put on each outcome? what is your EXPECTED case?

what could we be at worst? what probability would you put on each outcome? what is your EXPECTED case

worst case with healthy tua 7 wins
best case with healthy tua 10 wins

best case without tua 5 wins
worst case without tua wins

I will not do any probability to till I see schedule with dates and times. As you know weather affects this team.

Dude I don't know what you thought. I never saw you on this board much honestly so I don't know what you thought last year. Maybe you said they would miss the playoffs. I take your word for it.

I said my expectations last year were to miss the playoffs and the best case would be to make it as a 7 seed but I thought that would be hard because I expected steelers and chargers to be good last year and I knew we would not make playoffs as division winner.
I am not changing my tune. I thought last year roster was terrible becaue grier did not get a head of contracts with wilikens and hunt.

I also thought having two edge guys off injuries was a problem.

I mean best case situation I think we could be a wilcard team and probably lose first round. Does it suck yes. I enjoy football season and grew up watching miami make playoffs and lose in the second round after the wilcard. So after years of not really making playoffs after 2001 then 2022 and 2023 were actually good season for me. Because we sucked so bad from 2001 till 2021. But I am not ever saying we are a super bowl team. I don't see that in tua honestly. I just think we can get back to being a wild card team.

btw I never thought they would win division in 2022 when they were 8-3 or in 2023 when we were 3 games up. Why? I just feel like buffalo is better and has the better qb and I seen miami **** up so many times I was still thinking Wilcard at best. Maybe I am just scarred from the past but I honestly thought we lose the divison somehow. I thought we would lose to cowboys, ravens and bills not titans.

If Tua stays healthy the entire year the Dolphins are going to be wildcard bound, like it or not.

I have no faith in winning that game on the road though, so winning the division is the only answer and unless Josh Allen gets hurt, that's not happening.

thanks. how do you define "healthy" tua? healthy for 17 games? what is the minimum number of games he plays that qualifies as "healthy"?

thanks. if you don't know what i thought, why did you start this by saying i thought they were going to be good last year?
anyway, i am a straight shooter, and call it like i see it. i also gave you full credit, repeatedly, for your call on grant when that went down. you were one of the few, on record, ahead of time, that wanted him with pick #13.

Ya that’s I feel.
It depends on how we start. I don’t think that is being a homer. But others think that.

This roster and qb is not good enough to just beat anyone . They need breaks and good timing. I accepted that.
If things go well we could be a 7th seed
Not sure why people think that is being a homer
I don't see it as being a Homer. 9-10 wins is realistic if some things happen (and don't happen with Tua being upright key). I think the OLine and DLine are improved from last year, but depth is a concern. I will hedge on the DLine because losing Campbell was big, but we should have 2 of our Edge players back in Chubbs and Phillips. That alone improves our DLine. If some key guys on both lines get hurt early in the season, or Tua goes down, I think 6-7 wins is more realistic.

If dolphins beat all the easy teams on schedule. They should be wildcard team.

this is such a BS line, you people did not predict 2024 was going to be a playoff miss year. you guys were all in on the thing, the coach, the qb, the gm, tuas big new deal, all the big new deals, all of it. just stop with the revisionist history.
If I recall correctly, they all said it was win at least one playoff game or the year was a failure... pretty much everyone was saying that...

I am confused.
I said I didn’t think the dolphins would be good last year. I thought they miss playoffs. This year they have better chance I think based on roster. I still think wildcard is best chance not division.
I had no idea what you predicted
What was your prediction last year?

Agree

That was the general consensus but I never thought we could win division and get home game. I am surprised many of you guys were so optimistic last year based on the roster.

Win playoff game. How u going beat Buffalo kc, Ravens or texans. U have beat ones of them in 2026. If we make it. These are team dolphins must be better than too win playoff game. There is no way around these team. Goal supposed be win playoff games. You right.

That may be your issue. You keep saying things like you guys and everyone. I said no such thing. I knew we weren't getting anywhere last year just like we aren't again this year
