I mean seriously? What is the freakin point now? Why screw ourselves out of more options in the draft?

There is no guaranty that a higher pick will be a star. Every year, there are busts at #1 #5 #10 or else and studs are drafts with pick #12 #17 or lower. I love my Dolphins and I will never wish them to loose. There will be no playoffs this year but I will cheer for my team every single week.

The day I start having to root against my team for better draft position.....is the day I quit being a fan.

why win? Seriously? As long as there is a 0.001% chance of a playoff birth I will always want them to win... no matter how bad they are playing.

A few meaningless wins was predictable and happens every season toward the ugly end. I fully expect RT to have a Marino type outing also before its over just to raise hopes that he actually could be "the One" but of course by game 3 in 2016 he will revert to playing like this weekend.

As far as draft picks go...Have we not all learned by now that even picking #1 does not guarantee success? Our last #1 was Jake Long and He translated into how many playoff appearances? High picks mean nothing when the Franchise is inept.

Sorry so gloomy but it is Monday and this is the Fins we are talking about...Should replace the Sun in the logo with rain clouds.

How are you going to tell the players to lose on purpose? Some of these guys won't be here next season. Do you think they care where we draft? Do you think they are going to play their hardest to earn another chance with another team? Do you think players are going to play their hardest to earn bonuses set into their contracts? Same goes with the coaches.

Why win?

Players want to win. Why? Cause if they give a half ass effort, they'll be replaced the following year.
Coaches want to win. Why? Cause wins keep them employed/in the NFL. You think someone like Campbell wants the team to lose, and just about end his coaching career.
Etc..

No one on the roster, coaching staff or FO should be wanting to lose.

As an organization it's difficult to purposefully lose. Players don't subscribe to that thought, as well they shouldn't. But theoretically, there's no reason to win anymore games this season. Just beating the Ravens dropped us from the 5th pick (within range of a stud like Joey Bosa) to 17th or something like that. We all know what kind of players the Fins get in that range because they've picked in the teens for almost a decade.

Picking higher gets you closer to the elite talent. Sure the pick could end up crapping out, but that's true of EVERY pick in the draft. I'd rather have a chance to crap out on a Joey Bosa or a Jaylen Smith elite level player than another player available in the late teens.

We do this every year, and then on top of it most of our number ones are useless. Like the poster above said, "we are mired in mediocrity". Or something to that effect

Why win?!?

Because we're not the frigging Browns, that's why!!!

what about the Indianapolis Colts? They tanked the entire year for Luck.

Curtis Painter / Dan Orlovsky / Kerry Collins in a wheel chair were the QB's - that will lead to a first overall pick, no need to intentionally tank with that crew.
