I still don't understand why Saban doesn't get raked over the coles. He was an absolute and complete failure in the pro game which is by far the hardest sport to be a head coach in. It's the pinnacle and he cut and ran because he knew he wasn't up to the task. He had no clue how to do anything well in the NFL.

With that said, why does everyone still love this guy? Huizenga, Mortensen and every other media type thinks the guy is great. He was a terrible head coach in the NFL. He didn't do much of anything properly. I've not heard anyone talk about what a failure he was let alone call him an untrustworthy liar which is 100% true.

Doesn't surprise me though. Saban at 1-6 was saying there were many positives to focus on and that the progress we made was very encouraging. He's been very confused since he came to the pro game.

becasue he totally changed this franchise around, everyone in the franchise, the players, the fans bought into what he was teaching and then he just ups and leaves our franchise in disarray. He got Wayne to spend big money on assistants, practice facilities, etc.

the nail in the coffin was when he took dc over brees. what a terrible mistake. we need to get rid of moolarkey also. maybe dom will stay on as dc. what a mess. screw saban and screw alabama. he can't hack the big leagues. what a joke.

You make an excellent point...I really find it hard to be sad about him going after the season we just had. I also think he was in over his head...Got so confused at Pitt he could not even throw a challenge flag more than 10'. Matter of fact the best thing I will remember him by will be the catch he made last week on that over-thrown pass by Lemon. The fans who post on this site have more heart for the Fins than he ever did. If you are the head coach that had better not be the case.

What did he change? Our offense got worse year over year by far. Our defensive secondary was awful to start the season and struggled the whole year. That's where he supposedly knows how to teach everyone what they need to know. Instead of getting younger, we've gotten older, which was hard to do because we were old already.

He waited way too long to make changes anywhere the entire season. He had the wrong guy as his backup qb and we would have had a better shot at winning with Cleo under center rather than JH. The Culpepper thing wasn't a big deal in my eyes. I take the guy with the bum knee over the guy with the shoulder injury any day of the week.

I just don't get it. Being a great college coach has never guaranteed being a great pro coach. The reason being college is far easier to coach. You have 10-15 elite teams every year that have no problem recruiting all the best players because they get the most airtime and hence get the best shot at making huge money in the NFL. If you are a head coach at one of those great teams, it's pretty easy to continually field a lot of talent.

The Pros are the opposite which makes the game so much better and tougher. There is a salary cap and it's very hard to keep great players. The only way you have long term success is to continually get the diamonds in the rough that go later in the draft.

I'm glad he's gone, ultimately we'd have never had a remote shot at a SB with him at HC. What upsets me is that the guy was a complete and utter failure as well as an extrmely poor character and absolutely no one in the media or the football world is willling to call him out.
