Whys everyone acting like our front office is messing everything up??

All the great teams build through the draft. Unfortunately, that has not been us. We have gotten almost no impact players in the draft. One of Ireland's best picks, Langford was basically let go and not resigned, because he would cost too much money for a position that does not generate many impact plays. We've over-drafted the infamous 3-4 DE position and then when they don't make any impact plays, trot out the excuse of "well, obviously you don't understand the 3-4 DE's job - he isn't going to get a bunch of sacks". Well, maybe we ought to use the high picks on players that actually CAN get a sack and impact the game in a meaningful way. We are not trying to build a DL to stop the 72 Dolphins rushing attack or face the mid-80s Redskins Riggins+Hogs - we need to be able to rush the passer.

Yet, despite all of the "value" picks and not overpaying for FA's, we our basically AT THE SALARY CAP LIMIT and STILL devoid of playmakers. So, we've 1) spent to the limit, 2) not accumulated impact players, and 3) still don't have a QB. Excellent work.

We will do good this year! And why should we over pay a back up qb when we have Matt? Matt never had a chance last year to work with the first team and he did a GREAT job for us. Now Smith is another Moore or maybe less! Build though the draft!!!!!! Draft draft draft we already have Matt Moore so lets draft a QB.
Ireland is doing a great job so let's stop all the negative comments about him and let's talk about the glass is have full!

Ireland is not doing a great job. Learn what good vs great is.

Matt Moore is not a starting QB.

Once again, classic Fin fans overrating another mediocre QB.

This team has sucked for years, and yet that equates to doing a great job?

I'd hate to see what a bad one looks like.

Hindsight is 20/20 and I'm glad someone put this into words. You hit the nail, the wall, the stud and the brick exterior squarely on the head.

We've paid handsomly to become the immovable object. And very few people are paying attention to it. All this talk of acorns and we are constanlty bumping up against the salary cap. We would need twice the cap just to field the necessary playmakers to be winners with our current design.

What has this front staff shown you that has you thinking that it has the ability to build through the draft? Who have they drafted that has outperformed their pick vs been completely useless? In order to build through the draft YOU NEED a front staff that can pick more than linemen.

When Ireland sticks his neck out and drafts a QB in the first round AND stands beside him until the bitter end, THEN and ONLY THEN will I change my opinion about Ireland. I'm so tired of hearing about how great he's doing. Henne was drafted by him and Parcells. Yet he distanced himself from that disaster as soon as he could.

And when he went out to find HIS QB, who did he get?

Who is HIS prize? His time to show he could do better than Henne and what did he do?

I'm sorry, where's this Franchise QB?

"The draft" you say? Well, it aint Luck and it aint RGIII. So, it's LEFTOVERS again.

You don't VALUE SHOP on QBs when you don't have one.

I'm tired of retreads, rejects, castoffs and ACORN SHOPPING. I want someone's job attached to picking the QB. It's time someone in this organization named IRELAND was accountable for our franchise not winning and not having a QB.

Value shop all you want. Pick your acorns. But if you don't produce, shut up and excuse yourself. Go pick acorns elsewhere.
 
Nothing wrong with building through the draft ... but looking at our record year-in & year-out ... our drafting is a BIG FAIL too!!

They're completely unaware that they're the reason we are the most fickle fan base in all of sports... that they embarrass the franchise with the booing and billboards, and crying for Kyle Orton, or to Suck for a better draft pick. It's sad, but what are ya gunna do ?

99 negative finheaven posters out of 100 don't have the slightest inkling of what they are talking about. being the redskins and being champions of the offseason sounds about right for them. good call.

If i'm Jeff Ireland, I let the media and fan opinions go in one ear and out the other. I may fail, but it's gonna on my terms and by doing things my way. I don't know Jeff Ireland, but I hope he's a man with enough intestinal fortitude to stick with his convictions and a spine stiffer than a Missouri mules. I've been a Dolphin fan going on 40 years, and nothing would make me happier than to see Ireland and Philbin turn this thing around.
