I know it is too early to be talking about playoff scenarios but even though our start is going to make it very difficult to overtake the Pats for the division, it is starting to appear that competition for the wildcard will be pretty soft unlike last year. Consider that we are currently tied for the second wildcard spot (based on losses) and the first place wildcard team is the Bengals who seem weaker than their 4-2 record indicates. Just sayin....don't be too bummed out if we go 1-2 in this 3 game stretch because it looks like 10-6 (and very possibly a strong (AFC record) 9-7) will definitely get you to the dance this year in the AFC.

Bmore, NE, Pit, Cin, SD, Den, Ind, Hou, and NYJ currently have better records than the Phins right? Right now the best approach is one week at a time. I'm sure that's what coach is preaching to the players. Just enjoy the season...

I'm not quite ready to concede the division to the Pats just yet. They will be hard to catch but we still play them twice plus they also have to play the Colts & Saints.

If we split the next two games, we'll face them at 3-4. They'll probably be 5-2. We beat them we'll be 4-4 & they'll be 5-3. The next week they face the Colts and we face the Bucs. They lose, we win and we're in 1st place. Not totally out of the question.

I would be excited if we get the wild card. Heck, I didn't even think playoffs was possible this season, and I still think there will be some good and some bad this season. A wild card would be awesome.

Valid thoughts yet a couple weeks to early.

I expect a few teams to make a run at a wild card spot within the next few weeks.

I doubt that 10-6 will be a WC guarantee. Plus, I don't see us having to contend for a wild card spot. We will win the division outright - again. The Bills will eek out a win here and there. The Jets will be no better than 9-7. If they lose against Oakland I see them imploding and they will be lucky to reach 8-8.

NE is not that good anymore. We'll split the series with the Pats at worse and sweep the jets and Bills and will battle the Pats for the division crown.

The runner up in the East will have the first WC at 11-5 (I think the Pats and the Fins will end up 11-5). The second one most likely will go to the Steelers at 11-5 as well. 10-6 will mean nothing. The gap between bottom and top has widened this year.

But like I said: once everybody is past the half way point we will have a better idea.

Yea ive been rooting for the division leaders every week. I hope it goes Denver, Indy, Pitt, Mia (or NE). Then its really a race for the wildcard between NYJ, MIA, BAL, CIN, SD, maybe JAC, HOU, and another, but I like our chances but it really starts with beating the Saints. If we beat the Saints we will not only keep up with the race but have great confidence that we can beat anyone.

Right...thats the nice thing about being relevant as far as playoff possibilities. Not only is it great for the fins's game to have mroe significance, but most of the other games will have a result that can benefit us so you find yourself more into other games as well.

I think 10-6 makes it! We have 3 games to lose

Im thinking they may be the Saints
NE once
and either Texans or Steelers
