Ive seen this in a few threads and thought it was a fun idea.

Other programs have changed the name of the Wildcat formation to suit their own identity.

Arkansas changed it to wildhog, Ole miss calls it wild rebel.....

Well, lets stamp our own name on this exciting new wrinkle to our team.

I saw Anthony Fasano on NFL Network and he said the name of the play on the TD he scored was called "Wildcat 38 Bootleg" or something like that. The point is that the team calls it Wildcat so I don't foresee it changing anytime soon. As for us fans, I think Wildfin is appropriate but it just doesn't sound cool enough, for me at least. I vote Wildcat.

As a side note, I wouldnt mind our stadium announcer playing "Wild Thing" every time we run it successfully.

It's not the freakin' Single Wing, which Dr. Z did a good job explaining. The Single Wing requires a scat back, a power tailback, and what is essentially a fullback to pull off and there is no passing. The Wing-T is actually closer to the Single Wing than the Wildcat formation is.

I voted WildFin but whatever works is what I want. I don't care if they never use it again to be honest. As long as they call more creative plays and don't go back to the same stale gameplan that was Games 1 and 2.

No, I know its not the single wing. Technically single wing describes most of the offenses we see around the league today.

Shotgun formation is a spawn of the single wing.

The reason people have called our Wildfin formation single wing is because of the direct snap to our RB, who is not lined up under center.

The Gators "Spread" offense is actually closer to a single wing than the wildcat formation we used.

But whatever really, this is supposed to be more of a FUN thread than a technical thread.

Wild Tuna is a good one:)

Saw a newer thread with a similar question, maybe we can merge the threads:)
