It happens, unfortunately. It is part of the sport, and I still believe few GM's wouldn't have done it the same way.

It is a waste of money, and it is not us who should be ashamed of it. But Wilford himself. If he thinks he is worthy of the salary, then he is totally wrong.

I can not wait to get rid of him!

Cut him and give Fasano and Camarillo some love. Wilford never impressed me.

I think the coaches should say to Wilford, Now there a guy earning HIS MONEY whenever Fasano or Camarillo makes a catch loud so that Wilfrod can hear it. Sad thing is he probably dont care.....loser!!!!

We may have missed on Wilford, but talk about missing on a guy, how about DeAngelo Hall. That was a miss!

Wow, was looking at the USA Today article and Wilford gets paid 7 million to sit on the bench, what where they thinking? Fasano makes 700,000 and Greg 450,000.

They were thinking that he did pretty good in Carolina and that he can contribute to the Fins. But obviously the crystal ball must have malfunctioned on that day. Geesh, we're 4-4, in a position to make a run for a playoff spot, so why are we harping on mistakes? We all make them. I can honestly sit down every Sunday and think we can win this. When was the last time we were able to think like that?

My only question about this is, why didn't we get rid of Wilford and keep Hagan? Same output, huge difference in the price tag. :ponder:

Well I am not sweating it too much, I would much rather have Brandon London whom is faster and can go up in get the ball.

We have hit on ( Smiley, Starks, Pennington,)

I'd imagine it has to do with the contract.

Wilford probably has clauses that would make a portion guaranteed if he is released, making it less economical to get rid of him right now.

His base salary this year is only $1 million. The other $6 million was his signing bonus which it looks like we allocated all of it towards this salary cap. Next year his base salary is $1.5 million.

Geez, you would think the owners would start making PERFORMANCE a part of the contracts. I would love to have a job where no how ****ty I performed I still retained my HUGE bonus and my salary.

I'm actually really shocked by Ernest Wilford's inactivity.

I really liked him in J-Ville as a red zone threat and possession receiver, and I thought he would be a full time starter on the other side of Ginn.
He probably made a bunch of money and decided to stop trying, some guys just don't have heart. Obviously that's pure speculation but I don't have any other explanation.
