I was checking out rotoworld and found some interesting info on Will Allen.

Doctors discovered multiple ligament tears while repairing Dolphins CB Will Allen's (injured reserve) torn ACL last week.

This is a very poor development for Allen, who turns 32 before next season. He may miss all of the offseason and be questionable for 2010 training camp. Sean Smith and Vontae Davis will safely remain starters next year
.

Wow, after reading that I am really happy we drafted both Davis and Smith. Looks like these to will be our starting CB's barring injury for years to come.

Not good news. Now we are going to need another corner in the offseason.

I disagree... we weren't going to keep W Allen anyway. With Vontae, S Smith, Nate Jones & Jason Allen we're good at DB.

We just gave Will Allen an extension. Believe me, he was in our plans.

OWW

What play was he hurt so badly on?

Atleast he had a 2 INT day, he deserved it.

haha ya, like JCfin said, he just signed a big extension this off season.

He was going to probably move to #2/#3 corner next year.

He seems to be an ideal nickle back, if you ask me.

I also don't understand the love affair with Nate Jones. The guy gets a couple sacks and all the sudden everyone ignores his inability to cover receivers.

allen already had knee problems last year, and played through the pain (there was an article about that last year) ... i think this didn't help at all, you can't play on bruised ligaments and believe an offseason will just erase all the mileage on them...
i think that's just what he did, look how that turned out ...

That's too bad for Will. Wish him personally good luck with his recovery.

He has been a good competitor and player for Miami and will always respect him for that.

Damn. Will Allen has been a great player and leader by example for our defense for a few years now and I hate hearing that his career is probably coming to a close. The transition from Sam Madison and Pat Surtain to a group of journeymen CB's has been rough but Will Allen made it as painless as possible and at points showed flashes of the ability that earned him a Pro Bowl appearance with the Giants. And i'm sure that Sean Smith and Tae would be the first to tell you that Will Allen is a huge part of the success that they're having as rookies. Thank you Will Allen. Wish you a speedy full recovery. Good luck man.

ok then just for expereince we need to bring back surtain and then draft a late round cb for depth.

Allen and jones are horrible and who knows with the other 2. They are up and down. Another in a looong list of needs for this team.

Will was solid to mediocre, but hey I wish him the best in recovery. Going forward, we know we cannot count on Jones and Allen at CB, those two are below average. Sean and Vontae have to get better in a hurry, and it'd be a good idea to sign a veteran nickelback in the offseason.
