with all the starters we've had since marino, will beck be a starter for years to come? and what's gonna happen with c.pep now?

Dudes only 26...hes not 30...He's got atleast 7 good years of football in him, and depending on the kind of player he turns into, maybe 10-12.

i hope so ... the only thing that scares me is that he is a 25 year old rook.how long will he be around? will it b to late for him to start if he sits a year or two? also for c epep , he will be on our roster IMO

By the time he gets under center and learns the NFL he will be TOO OLD to be a LONG term fix.

Absolute nonsense. Brady Quinn, Jamarcus Russell, and Beck all have 3-4 years to either get it done or not. It doesn't matter how old they are now, they are only a couple of years apart. I think that the seasoning Beck has can be a strength. Look, now they are all in the NFL. It no longer matters what they did in College, the playing field is level now. Beck looks like he has all the tools to me, maybe not as much hype, but certainly the smarts, arm, character, and moxy to succeed in this league. Cam & Mueller seem to have him rated higher than Quinn, and when you subtract the hype and look at them both objectively, that's not all that surprising...

Having a few extra years on him won't effect Beck. If anything it just makes him better because he's more mature. We'll get Green and he'll sit out the year and start next year. I'll admit I really wanted Quinn, but the more videos I watch of Beck the more excited I get. I have a feeling that were gonna hear "Beck goes to his primary target Ginn" for a long time.

pshhh, so he's ~3 years older than any other rookie... who cares?

as far as numbers go, that's like the third smallest.

Can any1 say Rich Gannon or Trent Green?..Thats what he'll amount to IMO.

My two words on the draft

I think that the move for Beck was solid, yes I thought Quinn should have gone at nine but if he was that good why did the browns not pull the trigger at 3?. I think that Cam and Randy saw the samething that the browns did also. They knew that there were at least 3 or 4 QB's that they could take in the second round of equal talent so why jump so soon. Remember the 83 draft and the fact that we took the 5th QB and the rest is history. If you look at the San Diego QB's over the past couple of years they seem to improve under Cam. In fact, the media said that Brees was too small to play in the NFL but look what he has been able to do. I think by passing on Quinn, it saved the franchise $$$$$$ and will allow us to build for the future. Think about it, Miami will not be expected to win this year so why not rebuild this year and next for the future. I have been a life long fan and I have watched them make huge mistakes in the drafts before, even Shula didn't always draft perfect.
The fact is, the dolphins are rebuilding and we used 10 picks this year, saved tons of money, and still drafted players that I feel could step in and make a difference now. We addressed some of the needs on the line, and lets face it, we have not only been weak at QB but all over the offense board the last couple of years. I still think we need to address the WR, but they may have to come either through FA, or next years draft. Overall I am excited to at least see someone trying to fill our needs and position us for the future. Good draft stay tuned.

Beck will be fine as long as he keeps his focus. We all saw Quinn
loose his focus and start forcing it back in most of his big games.
