Well, as it currently stands:

Career Passing TD's
Marino - 420
*Favre - 396
Tarkenton - 342
Elway - 300

The asterisk means, of course, that Favre is still playing. He is only 24 TD's behind THE man for football's greatest record. Although Favre is most definetly at the end of his career, it is more than likely that he could end up breaking the record. He only passed for 20 TD's last season, but if he could gather himself just a little more this year, he has a shot.

Will he do it in 2006?

I hope he doesn't break the record..but then again records are made to be broken. :dolphins:

yes he will get it, after the pack start our 1-5 they will just let him throw until he gets it it wont mean as much because they will be 3-12 when he breaks it, i dont care what he says, he is playing for the record.

I think Favre will break Dans TD record this year, and then hang it up. I don`t see him sticking around to try and break the alltime yardage mark.

anyone have the stats to where peytons compares to danny at the same point in their careers. manning must be on a pretty good pace

No, but I do think he'll break his personal int record (29) from last season.

He'll probably break it, but he'll throw more INTs than TDs again doing it. Favre already has more career INTs than Danny so whatever happens, Danny is better. More TDs, less INTs, more yards. Nuff said.

Mark my words:

Due to poor performance sometime in the season, he will be benched for Aaron Rodgers.

Or he will force too many plays or try to make things happen and put himself in harms' way.

He may get close. He may get dangerously close. He may get OMGWTF!!! close.

But he won't pass it.

I'm thinking that he'll get close, but won't do it this year. And I don't think he'll be back next year either way. So, if he doesn't get it this year, he won't ever get it. IMO.

He threw 20 TD passes last year, if that's any indication of how he'll do this year given another poor team that he'll try to do too much for.
