Will jason taylor beat mike strahan record?

Micheal strahan had 22.5 sacks last years leading the NFL.
I watch a show with jason taylor talking about ricky and zach thomas and mike strahan's record. He said that he will try to bet the record and make the Pro Bowl again. In 2001 or 2002 he had 18.5 sacks, now 3 years later he wants 23 sacks in a year. I think he can do it he is a great football player, he is not the only one. I live in Indiana and everybody is talking about Dwight Freeney, he is fast and strong soo Jason Taylor has a younger rival.

There has to be a lot of factors set up to be able to do that, and the variables have to be just right. I think our blitzing schemes will get our guys to the quarterback a lot, but it won't be just JT taking the QB down. There is ALWAYS a chance, but I think he'll have a very respectable season. As for 23 sacks? Thats a reach.
 
You are right it won't be only jason taylor but most of the time i think it will be him

Thats a pretty high number to beat, especially just learning a new defense for the 1st time since he was rookie. BTW what part of Indiana you live in.
 
It also depends on the scheme we run. If it's a 3-4 forget about it. But if it's a 4-3, and we have Kevin Carter and Vonnie Holliday splitting time on the other side, he has a chance to duplicate those results. Ogunleye was an above average talent, but he isn't in the same league as Kevin Carter. I think Jason will be hungry this year...I think he'll get 20 sacks.

he might get some easy one's in the beggining simply because no one has seen all the options yet and they will have assignment mistakes. Later, as we come together, teamwork might beat the now aware O-line assignment calls. Another rusher stepping up (like Crowder?) would also diminish their ability to double team him. So , I guess my very homer answer is yes, under ideal circumstances he might beat Strahan
 
i don't think he will be beating Strahan. JT is one of my favorite dolphins, but he gets double-teamed way too many times. With a new scheme i don't think he will do it. I think 14 sacks is what he is going to end up with this year. But like others say, he needs that d-line to step up and put some added pressure, giving him a 1-on-1 situation. I think Freeney has a better chance than JT.

Hopefully, with Saban's new non-vanilla scheme, we won't be seeing too many double teams on JT.

Heck, I wouldn't mind watching Roth make the Jill's QB (what's his name ?) eat some dirt either. :D
