Perhaps his fate is already sealed by yet another late-season collapse, but do you think it would be a guarantee that he gets the boot should we lose our last two games to inferior competition?

If so, I don't know about you, but I am rooting for two more losses. I really can't stand Philbin as HC of my beloved dolphins. I hope Coyle goes down in flames with Philbin.

Dude, I started a similar thread yesterday. Be ready to get bash for not wanting to win 2 games that mean nothing and if we do win Ross might keep Philbin which is the worst thing that can happen.

I think his fate is already decided, but if he loses even one of these last home games, he is gone no questions asked

His fate should be sealed but with ross as owner who knows.
There is no way his fate should be settled by two games with subpar teams.
Lets just ignore this coach's record when seasons are actually on the line.
Playoffs basically easily within reach two years in a row and he craps the bed.

I think this will come down to whether or not Ross gives him a pass on the injuries and lack of depth provided by Ireland.

His fate was officially sealed after the team collapsed again for the second straight December. When the games really mattered, going back to last season, the team was outscored 19-0, 20-7, 28-13, 41-13, and when added together, you get a whopping 98-33. Winning two meaningless games against two shi*ty teams at home will mean absolutely nothing. The Ravens game was the blow, and Patriots game was the dagger.

I just don't see how Joe can survive 3 seasons of losing/.500 football and a huge scandal. Three years is plenty, and proved that Ross is patient enough to do things the right way.

Sorry, bro, but i didn't have enough time to read through all the posts before I created this one. No one should be bashing us for asking this. Its a legitimate question.

I'll be shocked if Philbin is still our coach after this season, whether or not he wins these last two games.

His fate is sealed with losing our last "Must have" games. Joe cannot finish big games, Joe cannot finish seasons out. It's painfully clear as day. We see it, Ross sees it.

He's done. If you don't have kill mode in the beginning of your carrer, you'll never get it. "If they don't bite as pups.." Goes for HC's too right?

For what it's worth, every non-Dolphins fan who's asked me about the Philbin situation was pretty much incredulous about the fact that we're sticking with Joe.

I have to imagine that anyone Ross is consulting on the outside is telling him the same.

Last years collapse will ALWAYS haunt Joe, even if he's given another chance as a HC somewhere else. That was the definition of "Epic Fail"

His fate better damn well be already sealed. Who gives a flying **** about the last two games....

I think most of us know that Ross needs to make a change but he always seems to make the change a year late. Sparano should have been gone a year earlier and Ireland with him. Instead he kept Sparano an extra year which didn't work and keppt Ireland. Last year he left Ireland go 2 years too late but kept Philbin which he shouldn't have.

I actually think the Dolpjins will lose the final game to the Jets though. It's Rex's swan song, Geno in front of his home friends, and the Dolphins players will have their suitcases packed for vacation...

I'll never understand Dolphin fans wishing for Dolphin losses for a better pick or for chances that a coach gets fired. I find it absolutely impossible to root for a dOlphins loss, regardless of the "repurcussions" of a win. Anyone rooting for a Dolphins loss is not a Dolphins fan, but a wannabe GM. Agaian, it is not physically or mentally possible for a Dolphins fan to root for a Dolphins loss. Have them win it all and the chips fall where they fall. Rooting against the Dolphins....BLASPHEMY!!
