We lost Soliai but Mitcell did play the nose all of last year in Houston. He is undersizrd at 295, and not close to big Paul. However, Wake, Jordan, and OV can all drop to LB, and it would be a change of pace. Do we use it much or stick to a 4-3?

When they ran their 3-4/speed package...Soliai wasn't even on the field...

OV at OLB, When has he played OLB?

They just acquired veterans that fit the 4-3 schema. It would be very foolish for the Dolphins to run a 3-4.

OV and Mise have switched some in the past (Misi rushing the QB and OV dropping back) with some good results. I guess dropping back into coverage would have been a better description. OV did it 23 times last year, Wake 25, and Jordan was at 46 but was at OLB to start on some.

That's part of the Blitz package...

OV has bulked up to play with his hand in the dirt....OLB is pretty much off the table.

A Bear front w/ Starks, Odrick, & Mitchell covering the Center and Guards would be intriguing.

With Jordan/Wake as OLB's and Misi/Ellerbe as ILB's, it could function like the 3-4 (5-2) Wade Phillips used w/ the Texans IMO.

They did but, Mitchell was a NT all of last year. Just looking at options which could cause some confusion to the O. I remember looking at the versitility of the DL last year, and was surprised that Coyle did not use it more. I guess the surprise this year would be if he does.

Regardless of how it was labeled, the team leader in sacks did drop into coverage on occasion, as did Wake who was second.

Yeah, just a little something to think about.

We have a coach who runs a 4-3. Why would we start playing more 3-4? Doesn't make sense.

I also don't see us using the 3-4 defense too much this year.

You do know that the interior guys dropped as well...
