will our defense be better or worse than last year?

we lost our best cornerback and a very solid linebacker. Do you think our defensive can improve with key losses? We have a lot of talent still on this defense. We also had some key additions. SO what do you think, will be be better or worse?
 
It will depend on if the offense can control some clock and put together some drives
 
It all starts up front. A D-line that consistantly gets pressure on the QB can make a suspect secondary look great. Poole, Madison, and Howard, with a solid D-Line will be at least as good as Madison, Surtain, Poole was with injury ravaged line we fielded last year. As for LBs, Greenwood was OK but not really difficult to replace, so I dont see us losing much if anything from our LBs.
Add to the mix Saban's defensive knowledge and I think overall our D will be substantially better than last year.
 
I dont think our pass defense will be "better" I think we'll be ok though.

And our run defense will be awesome this year IMO.
 
pass defense should be a lot better...vonnie holiday and especially carter will help to put on some pressure.
 
Barring the injury bug, we will be much better. Saban is already adding depth to the D-Line and even though we will miss Pat, our pass defense will be ok.
 
I think it will better. We won't be vanilla. We will change up every play. I also don't think we will fold late in games or late in the year.

I agree. Let them get some rest and come the fourth quarter that pressure should really make a difference.

One thing I don't really want to see is drafting D in the first or second. I would like to see our first two picks used on the offensive side of the ball.
 
I think at this point better, but it could get even better after our draft.
 
It's going to be a hell of a lot better..I think with the talent we have and the schemes Nick run will make us the best D in the league..
 
i think our defensive front has improved but im not sure about our DB situation especially safety. Im afraid its an unknown till the season kicks off. I wanna see Bell step up but i have my doubts.
