From what I've read our new OC is pushing the ball down the field way more this year than Henning did. Last year I felt our D was solid except for the the fact that our secondary would give up big "back-breaking" plays on a routine basis. My point is that you get good at what you practice doing. I don't think our d-backs were challenged deep last year in practice enough, therefore they were not prepared in game situations. I read somewhere where we practiced nothing but deep routes for atleast 30 minutes one practice. Our d-backs were solid on most of the short and intermediate passes except for the tight ends zipping down the seam. Once again, what tight end did we have zipping down the seam last year that would challenge our D enough to make them better? I feel our D will get more realistic practice looks this year due to our OC. Just my thoughts...

It really is an upward progression when a team is good. A great defensive line will make the offensive line better from a practice standpoint, the same can be said about a vertical passing attack and defensive coverage. As the overall talent of this team improves the overall quality of practice and learning will improve.

Given the right bunch of players with a common attitude and competitiveness, no one wants to be the weakest link.

Having a better OC should just give the defence way more time to rest. I'm hoping I won't be seeing as many 3 and outs. I don't undersand how some people aren't excited over Daboll, a high school coach could've done better.

maybe because a high school coach could have done better in cleveland so

Clevland didn't have as much talent as us. So your saying you'd perfer Henneing over Daboll?

i sure hope the days of calling running plays on 3rd and 12 and playaction in the same situation will change.. atleast take the chance to get the 12 yards and please let the wildcat be gone.. i can see it in a sense of
making a defense take time to prepare for it but it really changes the momentum for henne having only 1 to 2 downs to try to make something happen.

I want to see the wildcat on the goal line. I believe it would be very effective there. Other than that it just disruptes Henne
