I remember Nick Saban trying to get Dan Pees last year from the Patriots to be the DC, but they wouldn't let him go because he was under contract for one more year. I believe he is free to leave now, so do you think Saban will try and get him this time? I wouldn't mind seeing him be the DC here. I think he and Saban are buddies too.

I think the Patriots are gonna need a DC

Perhaps he'll try, but if Mangini takes the Jests job, forget them letting him go...they'll probably promote him to DC in Mangini's place...I know I would if I were BB...

But if Pees is free agent and is free to leave, then he could choose to come be the DC for the Phins over the Pats. Remember, the Phins will probably pay him more than the Pats and he is familar with Saban.

Dean Pees

Maybe then we can hire John Poop to be our Assistant DC :D

Seriously though, who knows what Saban's up to...I wouldn't mind having Pees though (even THAT doesn't sound right)

I dont think he will. I think he will take a chance with Dom Capers, or someone who is more fit for the system. It is possible though, since were trying to become more like the patriots.

How is Dom Capers a better fit for the system? You do realize that Dean Pees was Nick Saban's defensive coordinator at Michigan State, don't you?

I think they should go after Pees. It isn't that Capers is more suited to Saban's system but Capers is a more accomplished coach and might bring some more exotic flavors to the defense that could help the defense on 3rd downs, which was a weakness for us.

either way if you get pees or capers your getting a good DC. capers is a smart man, and pees is a winner, has worked with BB and Saban, i think either way. were only gettin better
