Since two more former Dolphins were inducted into the Dolphins Ring of Honor I've been wondering how long it will be before Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas get put in there as well.
But was wondering more so on everyone's thoughts on the Dolphins retiring either one of their numbers. I know they aren't of Marino's stature in terms of dolphins glory....but they aren't all too far behind either.

Maybe when they show up in the 4th qtr of a big game for us. Oh wait.....I guess they cant since they arent even on the team anymore. Looks like they missed their shot.

When you discuss the possibility of retiring those numbers, you have to ask yourself the following question. Do #54 and #99 measure up to what #12, #13, and #39 meant to the Miami Dolphins organization? Think about that.

Yes and Yes.

It saddens me to see the way these guys are regarded by so many fins fans now. I know its just fans on the net, no real Dolphin fan would ever say anything bad about Jason Taylor or Zach Thomas. Thats just a fact. Those guys in there prime are exactly the types of players this current regime would love as well. People are bitter about the way things ended? Those of you who harbor some type of resentment towards either of these players should be warned to let it go because both of them are going to be a part of our franchise forever.

Unless either does something remarkable next year and helps his team win a superbowl, I don't think either is heading to Canton. Atleast not in there first 10 years of eligability.

I think they do.
What #39 and #13 are to the Dolphins organization during their time are very deserving....Griese I suppose even though he didn't play a full season on the perfect '72 team. I but I do believe they measure very close. Offensive players get more of attention...but Zach and JT in my opinion put the franchise on both their shoudlers pretty much the whole time they were here, with JT more so after being on the team for a couple of years.

They both deserve to have their numbers retired. Best LB and DE in dolphins history. 2 of the best to play the game.

BOTH!!! I think they will shortly after their careers end. I look at the Denver Broncos Ring of Honor and they allow every Tom, Dick and Harry in their ring. At least the Dolphin's guys are truely deserving.

:sidelol:...funny, I agree

Taylor and Thomas were great players and they both deserve to go into the Ring of Honor (Pro Football HOF is debatable though) but their numbers shouldn`t be retired by the team.
