I really had high hopes for Saban coming in, and still do. All offseason I heard the pundits say the Dolphins were a team on the rise, and the pats were falling. but now Im starting to wonder if thses changes came to late. The Pats have basically had a 6 season headstart and got a lot of luck. They drafted Brady in the 6th round (pure luck). Drafted Seymour when everyone said they should of drafted Terrell or Koren Robinson, Drafted warren who is better then all of the DL picked ahead of him. Got lucky and had wilfork drop 21 to them when he was projected top 10. Their o-line has a second year guard and starting rookie RT (o'Callaghan who we should of taken) and their entire oline are in their 20's. their oldest d-lineman is 26. their starting secondary aside from harrison is 23, 25, and 26. their LB's are getting older but Vrabel and Colvin are only 30 and 28. They just drafted maroney and jackson. Next year they have 2 first round picks and will probably get a 3rd and 4th for compensation of losing Vinateri and givens. it just seems we may always be playing catchup because wayne took to long to firse the stache.

They didn't really "lose" Vinateri or Givens, they chose not to pay market value, so the players walked. It was more like the Pats gave them up, rather than lost them.

They are a great team.. but I definitely do think we are headed in the right direction. Our core offense is fairly young as well (Culpepper, R.Brown, Chambers, McMichael) and although we have some age on defense, we've already drafted solid guys who may not all contribute right now, but will in the future (T.Daniels, Crowder, M.Roth, J.Allen).

Im just scared of what the d-line will become once these guys get older.
