Will Zach Thomas go to the HOF any year soon has anyone heard?

We needed you to do TWO thread on this?
I don't think there was any need for the first one. There are at least a half dozon of them already.

Loved Zach, but this years selection is over. No one can see the future, and since there has been no new info, there is, obviously, nothing to "hear".

He's getting closer in the voting, i think he gets in within the next few years.

He could use someone coming out and endorsing him like Brady did for Taylor. If i recall Peyton had a ton of respect for Thomas.

I’ve heard that he is...and I’ve heard that he isn’t.

I asked the magic 8 ball again and he said...”Better not tell you now “

I'll never understand the worship of those late 90s-early 00s defenses. They were some of the most overrated of all-time. Better than Oliviadotti's, sure, but being a jizzmopper in a porno theatre would be an upgrade over those defenses.

Are you smoking lunchmeat? Zach was an amazing player.

"Worship" is an overstatement, IMO.

Nobody is saying they were '85 Bears, '00 Ravens, or Buddy Ryan Eagles good, but they were very solid for 5-7 years, and had some very good players, including JT, Zach, Surtain/Madison, Bowens, etc.

Very good players who choked at the most inopportune times.

Arguable..... There are players not as good in the hall.
It's all subjective. Fins fans have their blinders because he was a Fins player.

He had a great story, was undersized and an underdog (America loves an underdog story)...but I don't know if he's HOF-worthy.

Like I said, arguable.

I can see a case being made either way.

A lot of Pro Bowl selections, and season/career tackles.

On the other hand, Ray Lewis was superior individual player, and it isn't close.

I generally agree with you, and I think the defense’s performance in big spots has to be held against its purported leaders when evaluating their careers.

But he’s at the very minimum 50/50 as a candidate (and probably more like 60/40): impressive stats, 5 times first-team All Pro (7 Pro Bowls overall), 2000s All Decade Team, and unbelievably respected by his peers who got to bat for him every year come voting time. I’d be shocked if he doesn’t get in . . . somehow and eventually (especially since his contemporary Taylor is already in).
