Here's another article that I found off of the globeandmail website. It discusses Ricky's marijuana use...his beliefs...reasoning as to why he came to Toronto and not somewhere else. I wasn't sure if this should have been merged or not. But if someone believes so, please feel free to let me know.

"Then there are Venus athletes," he continued. "That's what I am. Those are the ones who have an innate love of sport and the competition of it. They're like artists. For them, it's not about the money and fame. It's about expanding yourself. And I think the more well rounded you are, the better an athlete you are because you need that inspiration. To have that single focus blocks the flow of inspiration."

Yeah. I honestly never realized how involved he was with his spiritual side. I know yoga is a huge part of his life. However, I never really understood the whole idea of it all. I just remember some things he would say in interviews last year. Like how he doesn't set expectations, etc. I just think that this experience will better him in the long run and as long as he's healthy, we'll see him back in 2007 better than he was in 2005. At least that's what I'm hoping for. :)

Yeah I think thats a good opinion, however, I'm just trying to just suggest that Ricky isn't the type of person a lot of people think he is. He's not a selfish guy and he isn't the type of player to put his team in jeopardy anymore. (Not intentionally that is)

My thoughts with this follows as to why would Nick Saban want him back in a Dolphins uniform in 2007? Saban thinks that highly of him as a person let alone a player. So as far as I'm concerned, I don't really see any reason why he should be neglected by people who think he's a loser or just cares about himself.

Ultimately, you're right K-Rob it does come down to what you do on the field, that's what being a football player is all about. That's just the way it is....

take the fact that he named them for planets out of it and its a great theory. but to say hes lost it because he is in touch with his spirituallity and chooses to look at things a little deeper than you would, is ignorant. we need to seriously stop passing judgement. this is an intellegent, good person who i personally become more impressed with as a HUMAN BEING off the field every time i read something like this.

boy, it is amazing (and a little sad) how some people can not relate to what ricky is saying. I grew up in miami (twenty something years) but have been living on the west coast a while. There is another way, guys. the west is the best. Come to the light side of the force.

But I guess you have a point. When all is said and done, ricky is just a flighty hippy nutcase (who can run for over 1800 yards in a season given the carries).

He was speaking in analogies and now folks call him out for being an Alien. I LOVE IT!! :confused: The guy is poetic. He is very intelligent and, for the most part, introverted. So when he does say something, it's something that makes good sense. It may seem off the wall to us, but it makes perfect sense - what he is saying. I actually think that RW is one of the more SINCERE and intelligent players in the league.
