I hated his reliance on Landry getting a tough three yards or the occasional 10, but everytime Albert or Jakeem touches the ball you feel it can go to the house. The defense has to respect the killer speed .i didn't expect a simple checkdown in the middle of the field to go 75

Meh,

Bubble screen are okay and are even better when you have a team that aren’t tackle/assignment sound.

I have no,problems using the bubble screens to get the ball into the hands of your playmakers because they are safe, and easy passes that can net great results if tackles are missed. However, you need to also push the ball downfield at times using the middle of the field especially to keep, the defense honest. If a defense knows the ball cant get over the top they end up creeping up and clogging the short passing lanes.

I’m not in love with it.

How about using these two like Duper and Clayton - let’s sling it!!! I

These two have the makings of a lethal duo not seen since our beloved Marks Bros....

Gase needs to open this thing up- big time -

Seems to work well when the WR has long speed plus tackle breaking ability.

Kenny Stills has long speed.

Jarvis Landry has tackle breaking ability.

Albert Wilson & Jakeem Grant have both.

Remember our last series in regulation where we only needed 10 yards for a field goal? 1st down incomplete (no PI called). 2nd down bubble screen for no gain. 3rd down bubble screen for no gain. Punt. Then, our first possession in OT starts with 1st down bubble screen for no gain. It's too much.

Screens work when you actually throw the ball down the field and the opposing team has to respect the wide outs. Yesterday BO was actually throwing down field enough (albiet not accurately) that there was a little room. It's also effective when the defense is tired, and with the speed of those two can be deadly.

The problem with Gase and his damn screens is he tries to use them like a run where if the defense sees it enough they will bite and open up a long pass. Well, to capitalize on that Gase, you need to actually throw the ball down the field. I only recall two to three passes to Still yesterday and I think two of them may have been line audibles. Mind boggling.

I am not a huge fan of the bubble, but when you have guys with world class speed catching them in rhythm, it's a heck of a lot better than Landry who had no speed. He would break a tackle or two, but typically got mauled for a gain or loss of 1. If this OL holds up like it did vs. Chicago, then Miami can throw down field more, making the bubble far more viable/successful. You cannot just throw the bubble all game long though as good teams will sit on it.

I agree the playcalling was amateurish on those two possessions. How about a fake bubble screen they had 3 defenders keyed on Wilson after the 2nd td, misdirection would have worked great.

These 2 are electric. And the way I see it, the more bubble screens they run during the season, the more they get better at it. Blocking will get better, and vision will get better. Do something enough times, and you get real good at it.

If we had a threat on the outside and let these guys rotate into the slot it might actually work but we don’t. Josh Gordon just went to the patriots for nothing. That’s a failure on our part.
