I found last year that when their own defenses produce no takeaways to help them, regardless of what else happens, only five quarterbacks currently playing have a winning record in such games: Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, Jackson, and Tua.
That’s another great example of this being a team
sport, but QB’s (good QB’s) can mask subpar play from their teammates.

Tua’s only deficiency is injuries. Injuries he is mostly responsible for. That’s a big deficiency and if people want to start looking ahead I understand (I am). I just don’t trust him to keep himself safe. But anyone who says Tua can’t play in this league is either biased or doesn’t understand the game very well.

Hindenburg. Descent, not decent. The Big problem began when it caught fire right before it was to begin the descent. Of the 97 people aboard Hindenburg, 62 survived and 35 died. Capt Max Pruss was among the survivors.
My word checker is failing me. - LOL

the chart says minimum 85 dropbacks. seems sufficient. i will give the nerds the benefit of the doubt on the sample size being sufficient because that is straightforward to figure out. having said that, i give them less benefit of the doubt on how good of a metric epa is. there are some odd names in the chart, but on balance it does not seem crazy.

So, a nerd is someone who knows more than you.
Lucky for me the world is full of "nerds". - LOL

Ill say Wilson because its difficult to imagine a 7th round rookie starting games again for us. Wilson's contract basically says he will be the clear back up at least for this season.
That's where I am at. I am sure he has a good dose of guaranteed $, so Wilson will get every opportunity to make this team. Ewers is more of a longer-term project, but it would not surprise me if this kid sticks. Wilson is the curveball. What player will he be this year? Either way, it does not bode well for Huntley...is he still on the roster? It will be a great competition for QB2 + QB3 roles this season that's for sure.

(Edit: Ghost answered the guaranteed $ for Wilson question above @ $6M and I agree he will be the QB2 unless Ewers/Huntley obviously outplays him.)

Wilson starts out with a leg up because of the speed of the game thing. After 6 weeks in camp we'll get some chances to see if either guy is playing quite a bit better than the other. I'd like to see either guy work out to be a winning QB, doesn't matter to me which one. We need a guy that
can come in and play some ball if Tua goes down.
Th fact that we snagged some QBs shows me they know they have a very injury prone QB and backup QB destroyed us last season. I hope neither guy plays a snap and Tua crushes all year but that's hope. I have a friend that always says, live in hope, die of despair!! Seems like one of those situations.

The fact that they just grasped in '25 their QB1 is injury-prone is amazing. All the $ they threw around at skill players and no big $ spent on QB2. I understand about Skylar, I was very optimistic about him after the Buff playoff game and thought he would do well when finally called upon. In all fairness though, Tom Brady would have looked bad behind the OLine we fielded last season.

It was a bad back up playing behind a horrible oline, the worst of both worlds! We are in much better shape now with Daniels, Jonah, Ewers and Wilson. I think Ollie Gordon will be great running behind our revamped oline. Our short yardage problem should be over. Ollie moves the pile, strong kid!
