Didn't it used to say "Miami Dolphins Winningest Team In Pro Sport" on the Miami Dolphins.com homepage? Whats up with that are we not the winningest anymore? But man thats some bragging rights, saying ur team has a higher winning percentage than any other team out of all the sports.

That winning percentage means very little without a Super Bowl in 32 years.

I believer this was true maybe at one time, however you can't include the Harlem Globetrotters. Those guys never lose.

i think the 49ers are

the dolphins are still the winningest teams in NFL history. In all of sports I don't know. At the beginning of last season I remember hearing that the Dolphins could go 0-16 and still have a pretty good margin between the 2nd winningest team, and seeings how we went 9-7 I think we're sitting pretty good.

Every now and then a true statement shows up around here. This,my friends, is a good example.

i believe we are number one, the redskins are number two, and the broncos are number three. i know it means nothing but its just another argument FOR us. instead of bringing up the undefeated season all the time we can change it up a bit.

You think the fans of the AZ Cardinals, the Detroit Lions, the New Orleans Saints wouldn't like the title of highest winning percentage?

I think there is some prestige in these records for us and the Dolphins' franchise. Of course, I'd prefer 'The Most Superbowls' won record... but I think this is a pretty cool 2nd. Be proud, man.. a lot of other teams significantly LESS successful.

:D

:yeahthat: and i believe that the second closest team is dallas (might be wrong though)

We are still the winningest team in NFL history, but I believe we were passed by the Lakers for best sports winning %.

I know as of the end of the 2004 season you were absolutely correct, there was no way (mathematically) for any NFL team to surpass us last year so it would still be true now.

And as of last year the Lakers had knocked us down to #2 in all sports.(Which considering their willingness to spend more than most teams in their league shouldn't really surprise)

we have the best winning percentage out of any other team in NFL history. Regardless of how many superbowls we have won (2 isnt a low amount of superbowls) this is still a huge accomplishment that is amazing for dolphins fans. To shun this stat away becaause we only have 2 superbowls is ridiculous
