No reasonable person can look at the evidence and even slightly pretend otherwise.

And this is coming from a person that is first to defend athletes from false accusations. I'm on record defending Starks, Cogs, and to some degree Pouncey.

These aren't false accusations though. The real thing, for which normal people are behind bars for many years.

look....I will 100% acknowledge that there was an INSANE abuse of power, and a DISGUSTING refusal to thoroughly investigate the alleged rape within the Tallahassee PD and community....but I will NOT assume a fellow man to be guilty of those allegations just because there was negligence on behalf of the police. You and your logic really takes the easy way out, assuming the guilt, and touting that any reasonable person should come to that same conclusion. Your "DNA evidence" proves nothing more than sex occurred....unless sperm can be interviewed as a witness as to how it got there.....and you're powerful conviction that the video must have been showing the rape completely ignores an endless list of other reasonable alternatives...whether it was consensual or not I'm sure his friend got scared the second the allegations got out, and destroyed the video regardless of what was on it. It is not uncommon for those accused of rape to deny being with the girl whatsoever, consensual or not, in fear that the moment he admits having sex with her, he will be seen as guilty of the rape.....additionally I highly doubt Jameis Winston would've used a video phone sex tape of him and a drunk girl as a defensive showstopper (can't really believe you were serious with that one).....but I guess those are coming from an irrational Seminole Alum such as myself.....

Again, I am not going to defend the way the police or the community in Tallahassee handled that case, but I will never be caught casting judgement, and take such personal stabs at a man's character whether I know him or not, based on a criminal investigation that never even brought about charges....unfortunately these things happen all the time, on and off college campuses, and I am sure a large number of cases have proven to be examples of criminals getting away with it, just as much as alleged victims crying wolf to protect their image from peers, family, etc....sorry in advance to the mods for letting this get so off topic....he's still a beast of a QB and going to have a good NFL career....
 
You do not need a good lawyer when the local Police have your back. They even threaten the girl about coming out and saying anything about it.

But hey, if he has another great season this year.....well.....I will of course will want him in the NFL.

THIS is how you deal with allegations of sexual assault.

MIAMI CUTS TWO PLAYERS IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING ALLEGATIONS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT.

They pretty much followed the Jameis Winston pattern: Bring a girl to a room with others, enact the assault as some form of perverted "consensual fun," and then pretend that it's all good afterward.

Except this time it wasn't FSU covering for a star player. It was the U bringing immediate accountability and full weight of the law.

If Jameis Winston attended the U he'd be in prison right now.

This was told to me by a friend who had a big source in the investigation

Hey so everything I know has obviously come from Bud, but here it is. There was a house party the night of the incident, the girl (who already had a bad reputation in under a year of being at FSU as a slutty sorrority girl, and who is now failed out) was coming onto Jameis the whole night She took him into one of the rooms and started giving him a BJ, the door was cracked open and people saw so she got mad and closed the door, then they had consensual sex, Jameis left and the girl stayed in the room. Jameis went to go play FIFA with some of his team mates and the girl passed out. Now, the question is if someone, who matches the physical description she gave, came into the room where she was and had sex with her after. I personally think she was embarassed that people saw the two of them doing sexy things, got mad that he left after and that he had a girlfriend, and then went and reported it as rape. Either way, the whole situation is really ****ty for both of them but I don't think it is fair for his career to be ruined bc he made a 19 year old boys mistake and the girl is slutty and into drama.

I agree that it's the latter too. The fact was is Jameis cheated on his gf and the girl (Erica Kinsman) thought they were going to be something. Instead, Jameis was picking up his girlfriend (went to Rice and a basketball player) from the airport. This is when she became enraged and claimed rape. It should also be noted that the description she gave did not match Jameis at all. Also, the accuser's (Erica kinsman) attorney was her aunt by blood. Let's not act like the Judge
Meggsnhas a record of sweeping things under the rug. He was the judge who handled the Free Shoes University scandal. Jameis has some maturing to do, but he wasn't charged for rape, so I don't know how people can instantly know he raped her.
 
Ah yeah the investigation that swept things under the rug is leaking things to justify sweeping it under the rug. Very credible source you got there.
 
Interesting freudian slip by the OP. Got the 2 athletes I despise the most in all of sports, confused with each other.

It is important to my life that winston NEVER be anywhere near the Miami Dolphins roster. I would become a jet fan before I would support that thug.

Oh, so you mean you stick up for players who play for the team you love? Yes that clearly shows your not biased in this case lol...

Just out of curiosity, who is your College team of choice?

EDIT: PS I dont think the video was showing sex of any variety...despite the reputation Pots had, I dont think public sex is something they are known for.

Pretty awful comparison, but happy for you to so proudly tout that two of your (former) athletes raped a 17 year old girl.

They were a) actually arrested and b) not even sniffing the high profile of a Heisman winning freshman QB. Sorry, but that just shows that UM can cut useless players from their team after they rape a 17 yr old girl.
 
Why is this thread 5-starred? Reach around for Ryan could still end up working out.
 
If the Dolphins are 0-10 this year I'd be all for them going 1-15 to get a difference maker if one was available. At 0-10 why the **** not? It isn't rooting for them to lose per say. At that point the season would be done-zo anyway.
