The last few years many haven't wanted the number 1 pick. It's usually very reasonable to trade for it. If we need a QB at the end of the year it can be done without mortgaging the rest of our picks (not that we know what to do with them anyway).

Matt Ryan hasn't done **** in this league either.

Hindsight's always 20/20 but the smart thing to have done would be to have snared Long (and not let the idiot meatball play him in a meaningless exhibition game) and then trade up to leapfrog the Ravens for Flacco, who may not always look pretty doing it but actually has descended testicles in postseasons and does win SBs, division and conference championships without the offensive arsenal that Melty had to work with. Atlanta paid what, $105mil for 1 playoff win which almost was choked away if not for Gonzalez. That makes Flacco's contract by comparison look like a real bargain!.
