Can you guys name teams that have excess depth at those positions and speculate about players that might interest Miami? One team that I read today had very good db depth was Philly. At tight end, it appears the Giants might have some depth. New England has some good depth, but they will not deal with us I am guessing. I also noticed that Baltimore is high on a rookie free agent from LSU named Prudie, who played under Saban. If he fell into the numbers game he might be a worthy option. Just wanted to stir talk on the subject. Saban and Mueller seem to be capable of finding guys.

Raised some good questions although I completely disagree with DB depth. I think we entered camp with the best DB depth we've had here in a decade or more and Will Poole's injury doesn't change that a whole lot.

Now TE I think you have something. We'll be keeping an eye on the waiver wire as neither Keith Heinrich, Teyo Johnson, nor Jason Rader have been effective as TEs and it's typically a position where you could run into numbers games because teams like to have only 3 which may include a long snapper.

I believe likely our 3rd TE and our 4th CB may both be playing for other teams right now. I expect that Teyo Johnson, Jason Rader, and Keith Heinrich will all be cut and we will claim a TE off of waivers. None of them have been impressive thus far. As for CB, a good one may not be cut, so we may have to trade a player where we are deep, like the D-line, to get a solid CB. I propose we start shopping Jeff Zgonina.

I honestly think we need to re-sign Lorenzo Diamond.

I agree with ya here ck. I don't how many more of these "secondary problem" threads I can take. Last year we had an aging Madison and a patchwork secondary and I don't remember seeing this many threads on the issue. I think people need to chill IMO.

that would be an AWFUL idea. first off, zgonina is nowhere near our trading block, just because you dont know whats going on, doesnt mean saban would do such a ridiculous thing.

secondly, i hope you are joking that you think we will cut all 3 TE's, lol get real.

we will probably scower the waiver wire for a CB but i dont see us trading for one, especially not at this point into preseason. and we already know we arent going to trade any draft picks.

Geeze,.... one preseason game and people are seeing doom and gloom with the secondary, tight ends, running backs, linebackers. Last year we would have wished we had the personnel we have now going into training camp. I am sure Mueller and Saban will be scouring the waiver wires to find value not because they are desperate but because they are always looking for players at any position.

I love our back-up TEs, Teyo Johnson is great and so is Justin Peele.

We have depth and talent in the defensive backfield. The mistakes made in the game against the Jags were mental mistakes and missed assignments. Those are correctable.
TD's injury is an ankle sprain and that will heal in another week or so.
I think we are deep at safety.

Agreed, some positions need minor tweaking, not overhauls.

Geez, lets play a couple more preseason games with what we have, and I'm sure Saban & co are watching the waiver wires to see what/who comes available that might fill any gaps they see.

Never saw such a bunch of doom & gloom people before.

i don't think we will need that much. I liked Goodmans play as well as W. Allen. If our safeties can keep from getting torched we may be alright. It never hurts to look around though.
