if you count jason taylor, david bowens, zach, the rest and add on to that lavar, our linebackers would count about 35 million against the cap-or roughly 1/3 of the cap for one position group. im pretty sure we would have the most expensive linebacker core of all time. also, three of the top four highest paid players on the team would be linebackers.
 
But, we would have a dominating core! Expensive yes, but if it brings us a super bowl victory spend away!
 
well JTs position name is open end so i wouldnt really consider him in the linebacker equation. same thing with david bowens. but if you put them in with the linebackers that is alot of money for one position. its ok though because the money is being spent on quality players and not scrubs like when we spent all that money on howard.
 
Yes. While we're at it, far too many people here need to learn that:

RESIGN = quit

RE-SIGN = sign a new contract

SABAN RESIGNS would be a very, very bad thing.

SABAN RE-SIGNS would be a very, very good thing.

J.T. and Bowens are really Defensive ends, they have been their whole careers, and just because they will be playing "Linebacker" in the 3-4 on occasion doesn't mean they are really LB's. When they signed their contracts they were DE's, and they still are for the most part.

Perhaps, but if you look at our final roster, I think you'll see 7, 8 or more LBs as well...At this point, even tho JT and Bowens both play some DE and some LB, they both count as DEs, not LBs...

Yes this is the one that bugs me :mad:

Everyone is always saying players resigned and its annoying, after the whole ricky thing I dont take anything for granted and it scares me
