With Pittsburgh's loss today...

I think we control our own destiny now. We are a game behind Pittsburgh and Jacksonville, but we play both those teams down the stretch. If we win out, we will own the tiebreaker with them. The same goes for Houston if they win tomorrow. For Baltimore, we would have a better conference record if we win out...so we would beat them too. We really could end up with the last wildcard spot if we don't win the division.

Anyone see a flaw in this?
 
Now we just got to go out and win those last 6....

I think we still have room to lose one to the Patriots and still grab a wildcard spot. I've been sitting thinking about it all day, I think we can afford one more loss, as long as it's not too Pittsburgh, Jacksonville, or Houston.

They would have to lose another one though also in that case.

It would be nice if we actually go into the Pittsburgh game with a playoff spot on the line. (Though I would like to just win the division outright...)

I think it would be nice for New England to just lose out so we can take the division with ease. :chuckle:

I know. You'd think they would understand and just lose out for us. Selfish *******s...
 
I was gonna make a thread like this. The Steelers, and Ravens losses definately help us. Other contenders Broncos (Chargers are going to win the West) have a tough schedule and are going downhill fast. Jags, we play, and I don't know how good they are after today's win. Texans are a little scary but we should take care of business. Steelers and Ravens are in a little trouble too. As they say it is anyones to take, but I like our chances now more than ever. Hopefully we can keep pace!!!!

The flaw would be if we win out we would most likely win the AFC east. I do not see New England knocking off the Saints. If they lose that game we play in Miami for the division, and if we win we have the tie breaker with a better division record.

I would love to think we could win all 6 games, but it would very hard to do so. We did get a lot of help today in the wild card chase if we go 5-1 in our last 6. Denver is losing to San Diego, we want the Chargers to win that division because San Diego would take a tie breaker for a wild card because they beet us. The Stealers and Ravens lost, so we can not be more than a game out of the wild card.

They already did last season and we embarrassed our division. I think we can still beat the Patriots in 2 weeks but I also think they can blow us out with our secondary giving up big plays all the time.
 
Jags schedule is brutal, Steelers and Ravens Have fairly easy schedules but play each other twice. Texans got (Titans, Colts, @Jaquars, Seahawks, @Rams, @Dolphins,Patriots) and are probably out. I think the Jags are out. The Ravens have a 5-5 record but don't really play anyone that tough besides their two games against Pittsburg. So it is really a four team race. Dolphins, Broncos (unmentioned because I really think they are out too.), Ravens, and Steelers. My final prediction Steelers and Fins.

Agreed... if we win out we will be fighting for the division not just the wild card. If we win out and the pats loose 1 other game we win the division.
 
LETS GO DOLPHINS WE GOT THIS! Sorry, had to.They also lost Roethlisberger. I think it's only for one game, but thats another big blow to them. They play at Baltimore next week, so im not sure who we should root for?
