It looks like the Dolphins aren't going to be moving up to snag RG3 due to the crazy price tag it will cost. That means we will end up with either Peyton Manning(if healthy) or Matt Flynn. If this is the case what will the top 10 mock look like? Is Kalil a lock in Minnesota at 3 after his crazy combine performance? Is it going to be Washington or Cleveland that pulls the trigger on moving up for RG3? Do the Dolphins go Tackle or is there a chance a play maker like Blackmon falls to 8? Reiff? Johnathan Martin? Could Claiborne fall to us? Do we trade back? I'm curious what you guys think and what you would prefer.

Thanks!

If we get Manning, it'd be nice if we could also pick up a serviceable guard or tackle, then trade down into the mid teens to pick up another 2nd rounder. With our 3 picks in the first 2 rounds we should be able to adequately address our 3 biggest needs of pass rusher, deep threat at WR, and safety.
I'd be very happy with Mercilus, Stephen Hill and Harrison Smith.

Drafting a guard or RT in the top 10 is foolish. If Manning is the QB I draft Tannehill and let him sit behind Manning a couple of years. The only other name I consider is Kuechly.

I'd go after MANNING, AVRIL and NELSON for sure in F/A, and either re-sign SOLIAI or go after GRUBBS/NICKS. That much would easily be doable, as I've posted elsewhere. I'd also let LANGFORD walk. I'd cut BELL. He can't cover his a** anymore. TEs, especially the N.E. TEs, LOVE him. That cut saves $4,300,000 in "cap". JAKE could be extended for a 4-5 year on top of his present contract, and end up saving MIAMI about $2 Million more w/little actual $$$ loss to him, no "backloading"/tricks, and a LOT more security, both for himself AND for MIAMI. (He'd be set, and a "happy camper", and so would the Dolphin Nation). There are MANY more cuts and similarly painless restructures which can be made, and the "cap" savings would be huge. E.G., RYAN COOK: WHO is he, and WHY is he getting $1 Million in salary, $112,500 in Bonus Money, and counting $1,112,500 against the "cap"? By cutting him, MIAMI would save $1,012,500!

1. Melvin Ingram
2. Michael Brockers
3. BPA

IF Blackmon falls to 8 I would try to trade that pick. This draft is loaded with WRs and I like Floyd from ND a lot anyway. Stay away from Devon Still at ALL costs.

Not necessarily. We could be targeting Tannehill or Weeden, or even another QB in the draft. Matt Moore could start for a year while a rookie rides the bench. There are other options besides Manning and Flynn. Manning might not even play again, and Flynn...well....he's not much of an upgrade over Matt Moore.

This is simple...protect the qb,get to the qb is the success of any NFL team.with a qb in place ingram is the best value/versatility pick at #8. Assuming we grab a safety (Nelson) or corner in free agency you should look to address the nickel corner in round 2 or 3.same with o-line.in round 2 depending on value/talent at the positions.we may have to wait on that great TE we are lookin for because I'm sure fleener isn't makin it to round two and allen/ Charles isn't exactly gronk or Vernon Davis although decent tight ends.you have a few OT to be had with decent value in rounds two or three that can start at RT on day 1.Mitchell Schwartz, bobbie massie, zebries sanders just to name a few.the first three rounds are loaded with corners, tackles and recievers.its hard to predict free agency but I will give my best case scenerio for our team. Free agency:reggie nelson,Robert meachem, chad clifton (released from pack) Dan Connor. Part ways with:Bell (released) Carey,Solia, will allen and langford. Re-sign:Marvin Mitchell,Merling ( I think he is a free agent?for depth) Draft: RD 1: Melvin ingram:pair with wake to take our D to top 5. RD 2:Jayron Hosley:very underated corner from VT who has a history of producing great Dbs.throw him in nickle corner day 1,with Sean and vontae on the boundaries and that looks pretty good. RD 3:Dwayne Allen/Orsen Charles:with Allen slow 40 at the combine and Charles not running this looks very likely that one will fall. Day 1 Roster: offense (realistic) qbs:flynn, moore,Russell Wilson (our 5th round development qb). Rb:reggie bush, Jerome messame and Daniel Thomas (goes to 3rd rb when messam blows doors off of camp and preseason) WR:The Beast,Meachem,Bess,Hartline and gates (my pick for suprise player,I don't think he was utilizes correctly nor Bess or hartline, look for Sherman to exploit that great speed) TE:Fasano,Allen and Clay (Mr everything and fb) O-line: lt:long LG:cognito C:pouncey RG:jerry RT:clifton(think murtha can take over after clifto.wraps up his career with us) DEFENSE: LE:wake DTs:starks and odrick RE:ingram lbs:Lolb:burnett MLB:Dan Connor(ready for career to take off) Rolb:dansby Cbs: Davis, smith(boundary corners)Hosley(nickel) Safety:Free:reggie nelson Strong:Reshad Jones( the ultimate wild card...i think he can be an amazing strong but we shall see. Well that looks like a super bowl team to me! Of course injuries, team cohesion and coaching are the main factors, but with that offseason,I don't see many big blotches on the roster. Ps: regardless of what team Melvin goes to,I see defensive player of the year.he is goin to be an outstanding one..

100% agree. Got to take Tannehill if we take Manning, but if Kuechly is still there, how do you pass up possibly getting the next Zach Thomas.

Free Agency: Manning & Mario Williams Let Solia go.
Trade down in draft and pick up another 2nd.
Draft Tanenhill in the first and WR Floyd or Streeter inthe 2nd. Also pickup a safetyin the second.
Sorry typed quickly from my phone at work.

Do we trade back? I'm curious what you guys think and what you would prefer.

I think Ireland clearly wants to get the QB situation squared away as soon as FA starts and I think we either sign Manning, or Flynn, but my money is on Manning. Then we likely will draft a QB to groom for the future and I think Sherman will want to bring in his guy (Tannehill) from Texas A&M. I think the Skins will target the same QB's as us....Flynn and Manning and we'll get one and they will get the other.

The Draft-

1. Colts - Luck
2. Browns - (RG3 by trading up with the Rams)
3. Minny - Kalil
4. Rams - Blackmon
5. Bucs - Claiborne
6. Skins - Reiff
7. Jax - Coples or Ingram
8. Miami - Tannehill

My personal preference is Tannehill with our 8th pick if he's there, and if we get Manning in FA. Familiarity with Coach Sherman and his offense, and learn from Peyton Manning would do wonders in helping to groom Tannehill as our young and hopefully Franchise QB imo.

I would be happy with that for sure! I think if we pull the trigger on Tannehill at 8 it is only because the coaching staff knows he will be the QB that they want over all others available. Can't wait for all this to play out!
