Because gase likes him, don't you see that he gets rid of players that buck the system and we overpay and retain guys that go along with the system.

Gase wants players that "respect him".
Trade for school boys and everything will be to his liking.

Didn't the last stiff we had for a head coach, the Green Bay guy, do the same thing? Ran off anyone who spoke out?

He sure did. Purged the team of very talented players. This looks like Deja Vu, but because Gase took us to the playoffs, he gets a pass from most.

I personally think pounce should have been cut three years ago. They should have released him with the whole bully-gate crap.

This reminds me so much of Philbin... Ugh. I hate these "culture" purges. Hardly ever works out. Ask Chip Kelly. All we end up doing is purging our roster of the good players and replacing them with crap.

I agree. Pouncey must know how to kiss management's *** because he doesn't seem like a good guy. Bullygate and the free Aaron Hernandez hat really doesn't show well. Then he wants everyone to give him credit for making it through 16 games. Well, plenty of crappy lineman make it through 16 games. How about doing some run blocking during a season and then we'll talk.

There are a lot of great guys out there but very few of them are great players too. The better the player, the bigger the ego.

If Suh's contract wasn't so unwieldy, I doubt he'd be part of this "culture purge". I smell BS. This is about cutting salary...that's all.

When the coach has never actually played the game, this is the result.
I am tired if the mamby pamby coaches and staff.
    Ross built this mess.
    When does he become responsible?

I would keep Ajayi, Suh and Landry and hire a guy like Jack Del Rio as head coach.
    Gase is a insecure man.
    Ross is a boob.

It's not about being a good player or a bad player as long as you're a good person and listen to Gase there's a spot on this team for you.

Hmmmm, Belichick, Johnson, Parcells, Tomlin just off the top of my head, all didn't play in the pros.... I don't think that has anything to do with it

Not saying it really has anything to do with anything one way or the other, but those guys all played football on some level. I don't believe Gase ever played football on ANY level, not even high school.

Gase was a WR in High school, played HS ball with former MSU QB Ryan Van Dyke- who was a qb for the Seahawks and Giants as well

...seems the My Yammie Dolphin football franchise is approaching the nadir point as superbly guided by Ross the Clown.

Hard to imagine anything really getting "better" as long as he own the team.

All four of those coaches played High School and College football.
Apparently, Gase has only played HS ball, but I could not confirm that.
You are entitled to your opinion, but I think it does matter in the locker room and sideline.

Ah, thanks. Sorry about that. I just remembered some interviews from when we first hired him that seemed to focus on his interesting background as not being a player. I guess that was just for college then...

I remember when Gase was hired, all we heard was that he tailored his offense to the players he had and their particular skill set. He didn’t force his philosophy on players if it didn’t fit their skills.

Now all we hear is that Gase needs “his players”.

    Really?

Eventually even the most die hard Ross supporters will begin to figure it out.
He only cares about the bottom line in dollars.
He has stuck out as an owner.
His decisions on team executives and GM are the reason this team never improves.

Really without those other guys, Pouncey here or gone makes no difference.

What is this "culture" we're moving on from? A culture of good football players?

I liked what I saw in his limited time here. He lit a fire under everyone’s ***, preached physical football on all levels, and the players really responded well to him.

It’s water under the bridge of course, but that type of “culture change” seemed like what the Dolphins were sorely lacking in.

Let me buy a clue for this team: it's not the players, it's the people handing out the contracts.

Well damn, there was a certain poster who claimed that Tannehill would be gone this year. He was ridiculed and attacked and eventually banned due to what I can only assume was a medication error. But with this apparent fire sale maybe just maybe he was right.

I think the team is going after players who learn the offense/defense, know their assignments, don't disrupt the team when they don't get enough touches (run game or pass game), non-mercenary, love the game of football, attempt to keep your emotions in check during the game.

Gotta check all the boxes to stay (or get signed/drafted/traded for). Especially if you're making (or asking for) a shatload of money.
