What the hell's going on here? Yeah, Porter's great, and so is Feeley, and I am sure if Trent Green joins the team, he'd be great, too -- but when the hell are we going to invest some money into the offensive line? I don't give a damn if it's Peyton Manning back there under center, that piece of crap offensive line is going to get somebody killed -- like a fan who's been depressed for years with a crappy quarterback situation or no running game. Where the hell is our mentality in all of this?

We're talking Brady Quinn in the first, just lost an offensive lineman, and we're pulling trades for ...Porter?

Why don't we bring in, oh, Jerry Porter while we're at it, too?

Oh, yeah, it's because we won't have anyone to throw to him, because by the time he, Chambers or anyone else gets off the freaking line, the quarterback would already be on his ***.

Easy Marc, MuellCam has a plan. Never assume we are getting Brady Quinn. thats just the natives talkin. This draft is full of good Olinemen, and we are no doubt in my mind, getting some. FA just started last Friday. I think due to the guys we are looking at in FA, that we will go Oline in the draft for sure. Plus we are looking at Carlisle. I know Mueller likes Kalil better than anyone.

If we were to land Ken Hamlin, I would suspect we are not drafting Landry. All of a sudden, Levi Brown looks more like the guy. We are getting to the point of having to draft Oline. Which is exactly what I want.

we are going to build our line through the draft. There is no reason to pay these high prices that linemen are getting through FA. Also I think that we could get a least 3 quality linemen with 9 picks. I think we should draft linemen in the 2nd, 4th and 6th rounds. That should give us a LT, C and LG.

Why do you act like there's no OL in FA left or the draft? We're not even in the middle of March yet and you already make assumptions on what we're bad at. Give it some time!

Muller and Cam have a plan and they've been sticking to it...we're getting rid of older players that are over paid and not playing well anymore...we're stockpilling picks...the o-line will be taken care of....plenty of good guards and centers and we now have 9 picks...Muller and Cam know what they're doing...they'll get us there.

Ozzy rules!!

i agree with pretty much all of these posts. there are plenty of G/C available in the draft, but i'm still concerned about who will play LT this year. if we do draft brown for that role, that's great but how effective will he be in his rookie year. while i have concerns, i'm very confident in mueller - from everything we've seen so far this off-season, there is a plan in place, and mueller is very sharp. have faith.

I'm sure that HH has a plan for the OL ...

When you consider the FA class .... I'm quite sure we either: never got a real shot at either G [Steinbach or Dielman] ; no T [Davis] was worth the $$$ it would have taken, so we stayed put; Alabi is ready; or Brown is our guy at 9 [or 12-14] ....

What surprised me a little bit, was that we released McIntosh ... who has remained our 'serviceable' Plan B for several seasons ... we need better, no question ... and maybe Alabi and or Brown is the plan. Alabi would be the preferred option of course, since that opens up a draft pick !

In the end, if we could somehow come out of the 1st 2 rounds with: Brown, Kalil and Stanton .... it would be quite a coup ! Obviously, we can't with the way we are sitting right now - so who knows .... and IF Alabi can take over, then we can go DL, DB or even BPA with the 1st rd - wouldn't THAT be NICE !

Good thing the season doesn't begin tomorrow, or we'd be DOOOOOOOOOMED!!!

I think we've done a lot in a short period of time. I'm looking at the guys on the roster and trying to find ways to get even more picks so we can rebuild the OL, and it's difficult because most of the guys that have trade value make too much money and no one wants to pick up their contracts.

Getting Porter was an expensive but positive move, IMO. He fits our system, he plays with intensity, he makes it harder to double and triple team JT--and any improvement of our pass rush helps our secondary, which also IMO needs all the help it can get. And Porter didn't cost us a draft pick.

So my suggestion is to be patient and see if we aren't able to grab an OL or two before FA is over, and then see what we can do in the draft.

Don't forget that the draft used to be 12 rounds, and lots of guys who went on to be quality NFL players came in rounds 8-12, they just needed a little more time to get ready to play. All the guys who might have gone in those rounds are free to negotiate with any team after the draft. So having a real GM to sift through that post-draft bunch is going to be invaluable compared to the years where we had head coaches thinking they could do it.

I trust our guys, and I think we're on the right track.

I'm astounded how people don't see the plan unfolding for the offensive line: It's called the Jets we are drafting our new offensive lineman because the free agents are really overpriced. I know Porter was expensive but the offensive lineman were ridiculous.
