Worst call I have ever seen a Dolphins head coach make.

Then so what? They tie and they go into overtime. McDaniel got lucky they didn’t lose in regulation with his bonehead timeouts trying to get the ball back in regulation.
I thought I had seen the dumbest play call of the game, then he started calling timeouts for the Commanders. Mind boggling.

The problem was the Achane injury on third down that stopped the clock. It gave Washington 1:45 on the clock. Who doesn’t think Washington wouldn’t have gotten at least in field goal range and possibly even scored a TD? Everyone saw how brutal that referee crew was. One pass interference call, and Miami would have lost the game in regulation. The real criticism should be for the play calls on third and fourth down and McDaniel calling timeouts when Washington took over on offense. McDaniel should know by now that this team can’t line up and just smash it for one or two yards. It’s another reason to get Tua the hell out of town. If your QB is so limited physically that he can’t fall forward for a yard and isn’t an elite passer and processor, what the f good is he?

The play call on 3rd down scores a TD if it's Gordon running or if Julian Hill does his job and blocks someone.

The 4th down play we have no idea because Strange got blown up instantly.

I'd love to know if McDaniel has had any input into these OL he has been saddled with and if he's the one keeping the Julian Hill experiment going. If he is, he should have zero, absolutely zero say in personnel matters if he is kept next year as these fringe of the roster players are absolutely killing us. I'm sick of seeing them blow their assignments at key moments be it missing a block, blocking the wrong guy, a false start, holding etc. Absolutely sick of it. Same goes for Ingold, sick of watching him lunge at people, hit nothing but air then eat dirt.

I didn't mind the call to go for the TD as I felt kicking the FG and giving them the ball back we were about to watch another 4th quarter collapse and I'm guessing McDaniel felt the same. Looks like Weaver went away from what worked against Buffalo back to the same crap that made us the worst defense in the league allowing long, time consuming drives that limited the possessions for the offense.

along with Achane going out of bounds on his big run. Saved almost 40 seconds. Should have known there would be mass stupidity in this game once we got a delay of game on the first drive on 4th and 1. Coaching on this team is so poor.

Going for a 4th and goal, game tied, with 1:44 in the 4th. Dumbest call ever.
At that very moment...I started to hope the Commanders win. No Coach that stupid will EVER get us to the promised land! WWSD..."What would Shula do?" Kick the field goal, have confidence in your defense and make the clock their enemy! That's why he has so many nicknames: McGenius, McUmmm, McDummy, and the list goes on and on.

Imagine Shula doing something this idiotic… you cannot bc it was so special and not in a good way.. seriously dude - let them try to win with 100 seconds and no time outs … that’s just beyond that this fool did this… this is a really bad coach! Special bad!!

I’m pretty sure he did.

It looked to me like Achane tried to stay in bounds, but his momentum carried him because he didn’t realize it soon enough. This is a fundamental thing that all players from rookies to seasoned vets should know and MM better stress it from here on out.

With under 2 min and the opposing team has no time outs and a chip-shot field goal to take the lead???....never! Completely different circumstances

It’s not the exact same, but it was close and just as risky. More so if you consider it was the SB and not a regular season game featuring two 3-7 teams.
