Id love to know why our offense was doing playaction passing when everyone knew we were throwing anyways at the end of the game. We even did playaction in our final offensive possession. Why waste time when you do not need to? Did we think we were fooling anybody?

Good point. I didn't really think about that until you just mentioned it. Aside from that, we hadn't established the run so the play action wasn't going to work anyway.

I would much rather have seen us in the gun with a fullback for protection, or with no fb and another receiver for more options.

Wow. Really??

Why is this an issue? What did it matter? How did it waste anytime at all? None of those play fakes were full drawn out fakes. They wasted no time off the clock at all and its competely immaterial to bring up. Geez.

How bout lets talk about stuff that was actually signifigant to the game and the outcome of the game. Like Ronnie not knowing the plays and causing us to burn a crucial TO that ACTUALLY DID WASTE precious seconds that a TO couldve saved us on that last drive.

I asked my buddy the same thing, when it was happening. What's the point? And to think Henning has been a well paid offensive coach in the league for a lot of years and even a head coach I'm pretty sure. Now here we sit on Sundays at a table full of beer and wings and it feels like we know more about the game than he does at times. I just don't get it. Get in the shotgun and throw the ball.

 Bingo.

Because the OL couldn't stop rushes from a grandma, they were desperate to buy some time for Penny to throw.

Is it a big deal no, but is there any purpose to do it at the end of the game? If it doesnt waste time, does doing it speed things up? Wouldnt you rather pennington get the ball and already be looking downfield instead of having his head down for a half second. I mean he couldnt get the ball to receivers at all, so why not have have as much time as you could to see them.

My friends and I thought the exact same thing. Why bother making your quarterback play-action and turn his back on the defense when everybody knows you're passing?

Routes off playaction are designed to break when the QB finally sets up. This may have more to do with it , rather then dropping back and staring down your man. I'm not trying to defend it as much as who cares! Did we have to be in shot gun too, the game ended the way it did because of poor execution at the end not because of play action or personal on the field.

It did NOT waste any time. It will freeze a LB & S for a split second, even with the lack of a running game at that point in the game. It seemed to work really well for Chad his ENTIRE CAREER. Watch those plays...

If the deep ball is not open...the RB, FB and/or TE got an extra step. Based on our WR's that might be the ONLY reason we even completed a pass on the scoring drives.

if they didn't work and caused a sack, then i'd have a problem with them. but the plays generally worked out well and Pennington had plenty of time during those drives, so i won't complain. but lightning won't always strike twice with that.
