I know, I know, he's only played in about 6 quarters and for 2 of them he was Horrible, but the last few times I've seen Sage play he's proven(to me anyways) that he can definitely play in this league. I'd hate to see Miami dump him this year and he gets a shot with another team and does GREAT. I know gus has done a pretty good job, but he is in no way shape or form the answer at QB for us.........We ALL know that, but it is still "possible" that Sage could be. If Miami picks a QB in the draft and we have to get rid of one of our QB's who would you rather have.....An old immobile Journeyman QB who can get the job done from time to time, or a younger, more mobile guy with just as big of an arm??? I personally would not mind getting a Rookie, and letting Sage/Lemon battle it out for the starting spot. Oh yea, I also think Lemon is going to play at some point as I just don't think Saban would have made a trade for him giving up a player and a pick if he didn't think Lemon had starters potential.

Sage has a nice touch pass. He is also in good rhythm with Chambers & Booker. But I don't know if Sage can be the #1 QB. Can Sage start all season long and lead a team to the playoffs? It is questionable.

Sage deserves to start somewhere and I don't believe he will get that chance here. For that reason, I'd like to see him have the chance to prove Wanny wrong for having him sit the bench for so long.

I was thinking, this guy is a damn good back up, he comes in, does not loose the game, manages it good, I think he is worth keeping around... As a BACKUP.

I'm not gonna try to predict out future QB situation, but I would miss Sage. It's been nice to see him play at a reasonably high level, especially since some of us had faith in him all this time. I also don't know if another team would pick him up or not if we cut him loose, and it would be a shame.

I just don't believe that anyone could be a "real good backup" and not do well as a Starting QB. If he has all the skills to play, and play well then he should be PLAYING!!!!! What just kills me though is that we had to suffer through Fiedler and even worse Feeley while this guy was on the roster and never even sniffed the field.

I want to keep him we have 2 wins signed by sage he did well it's difficult to come in the middle of the game and be effective

Well, I think we have to keep one of the guys, whether it be Sage or Gus as security or as a likely option if we do bring in a rookie QB.

Does anyone know if Saban is the kinf of QB to start a rookie his first year, or take the Marvin Lewis approach and sit him for the year or the majority of it at least.

If someone held a gun to my head to bet a $1000 on who would be the starting QB next year regardless of whatever ROOKIE QB we draft, then I would bet wholeheartedly that Gus would be our guy. Saban replaces injured players and they seldom lose there starting spot and if they do, it goes largely unnoticed (Qb position is hard not to notice).

. Sage already showed a little bit
A little bit? He got us our only 2 divisional wins this year, and at least kept us in the hunt. Maybe if he was out there for the Atlanta and New England games we're not talking about next year. The guy got 1 chance to start, and he was nervous and not himself, and had a bad game. He didn't start out great today, but once he had time to throw and was comfortable in the pocket, the guy throws receiver-friendly passes. You think Gus would have made that throw to Booker today? He was rolling out and threw a strike on the run, Gus would have overshot him by 5 yards or threw it behind him. I say keep Sage and get some damn linemen that can block and open holes! Our right side of the line was horrific today, again. But Sage pulled us out of the self-destruct mode we were in, again, and should be the top dog, IMO. Remember the Cleveland game when Sage was 5/10 and got yanked? Well, Gus came in and went 4/18, is that an improvement? Oh, BTW, I have 2-2001 SPX autographed rookie jersey cards of Sage, and 2 of Chambers if anyone is a collector. Send me a PM, I think I have enough posts to read them now!

REciever friendly passes? OMG, that is a new term that deserves some recognition. And Gus did throw one to Booker last week. Did you forget conviently?

He's a good backup, but so is Frerotte.

Frerotte and Rosenfels are not the answer, though...

Well.......Gus made an equally impressive throw last week, and he "Can" make them all. Now with that being said If I had to choose I'd rather have Sage than Gus here. I just get the feeling that he will be a very very good starter somewhere and I hope it is for Miami. I also feel as though Sage was all season just one serious injury to Frerotte away from Playing and proving he was going to be the starter for a long time. Of coarse I could be wrong about all of this, (It's just a feeling, but who knows.............)

You do have to admit that Sage managed the biggest fourth quarter comeback in Dolphins history, followed by a comeback victory against the team we can't beat. Maybe he can just start conference games?
