With this young line and subpar set of WRs.

Our passing game coordination was vastly superior last season.

We wanted to "run the ball better" and play "faster".

Glad that worked out soooooo well.

from everything I read it sounded like the system was overly complicated for no reason. So much so that Fitz was basically the OC last season.
Yep, and what wonders did "simplifying" things yield this season?

I didn't see less mistakes or guys playing "faster" as was promised.

Our passing game - with zero running game - was humming down the stretch last season.

Had we been able to run the ball like we did this year with the passing game concepts leveraged last year then we might have had a top 15 O.

If if's and but's were candy and nuts...

well could it be worse than wannstache gailey

I personally don't think the offense could play any worse. Couldn't run the ball the entire season, could only pass the ball when Fitzpatrick was playing.

Fair point.

We can't consistently win big games throwing to 3rd and 4th string receivers. It does not matter who is coordinating.

It's an interesting take, not sure tbh. Everyone was shocked when we fired him last year and no one liked the Gailey hire when we made it. But we still won 10 games ! In practically any other year that's a playoff birth. From time to time we saw some great play design from the old man but it just hasn't been shown enough, whether that's down to him or execution is the hot topic right now on here and throughout social media.

I think it's a safe bet that he will go back to retirement pretty soon, it's also a pretty safe bet that we won't be bringing back O'Shea. This, I believe, is the key decision of the off season.

Seriously, this sh.. Has to stop in every thread.
Unless you have brain control then i'm almost certain you are out of options hoss.
