A couple of days ago, ESPN asked an interesting question.

The rules to the question are fairly simple. If you chose to spin, you get one spin of the wheel and your team gets the quarterback situation on which it lands. That could mean you land on someone like Aaron Rodgers and are ecstatic that you made the spin. It could mean you land on the New York Jets and get a situation where no one knows who will be playing quarterback for you. You could land somewhere in the middle with a player like Alex Smith, you could land on rookie Jared Goff, or you could end up with the prove-it situation like Kirk Cousins. There is no way to guarantee which situation you will "win" with a spin.

Looking at the Miami Dolphins, I am guessing most fans would make a spin and see if they could upgrade. There are just enough questions still surrounding Tannehill’s future that fans will take the chance on landing on someone like Rodgers or Tom Brady. The scary part is, however, landing on the Jets or Cleveland Browns.

Would you make the spin? Would you not want to take the chance of losing Tannehill to a situation where a team cannot re-sign their starting quarterback from last year? Would landing on someone like Brady, who might give you a few stellar years, but is nearing the end of his career, impact your decision?

Nope. Assuming, as I do, Tannehill is an average QB, the odds are roughly 50/50 on improving. As I've said elsewhere, there's a reason teams with average QBs rarely draft in the 1st two rounds and those teams that move on to a FA QB rarely see much improvement.

Think the odds are more like 10% that you would improve. So no.

10%??? So, you consider him the 4th best QB in the league. Give me a break!

More like about 50%...spin that bitch!

That would mean only 3 QB's on that board are an improvement over Ryan. Think it is a bit higher than that.

even so, I wouldn't spin.

I see about 5 QB situations I would be very happy to land on to replace ours....

Luck, Winston, Wilson, Newton, Rogers

Please spare me the arguments for Brees, Brady, Rivers, Romo, Rothlesburger....I get it, but their age + them on our roster doesn't exactly get me stoked to spin and take the risk of landing a stinker situation.

the Carrs, Flaccos, Ryans, I see as semi-lateral moves...nothing putting us over the top.

So, 5/32 = 15.625%

Those are not good odds, so in conclusion, no, I would not spin the wheel. I'd happily watch Tannehill play another year under Gase and continue to see what we have.

No , because he's at fifty , but out of all those guys around 50, how many have as high a ceiling a Tannehill ?

I still believe the best from Tannehill is yet to come .

this.

No because I actually watch the games and not many QB's would succeed in that BS scheme we had the last two years combined with simultaneous element of constant beatings and running for his life our QB (whoever it would be) would have been subject to. Its not a cut and dry situation where you can plug in a different QB and without a doubt say he'd do better in those conditions.

What happened when Aaron Rodgers OL fell apart? He sucked.

HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL NO.

I am good. My QB's got all the talent I need.

NO because there are only about 10 Qb's that are clearly better and most of them are getting up there in age. The younger guys like Mariota, Cousins, Carr, Osweiler, Bortles could still bust and still have much to prove. I don't want a rapist like Winston as the face of this franchise and I also don't want a cry baby diva like Newton. Flacco and Ryan have peaked. Romo is injury prone. That basically leaves me with Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson as the only clear upgrades with a long future ahead of them.

I wouldn't spin at all. There are few QBs out there any better than Tannehill. Most of the ones that are, are getting up there in age. Lastly, even fewer would have played every game under the same conditions Tannehill has and still be standing, much less have back to back 4000 yard seasons and a 2-1 TD-int rate. Tannehill is not te issue, never has been the issue, and never will be the issue period! I am not saying he is perfect and can't improve but OL issues that are compounded by injuries to the better players and a D that can't stop a runny nose, especially when it matters most have been the glaring issues on this team!

nope. too many guys on the wrong side of 30, who cannot carry their teams to a championship. too many teams with question marks worse than ours, and too many teams that wouldn't be an upgrade at all.
